Now time to finish cruitin' strong!
Our final targets at LB, OL and WR should all see where they could step in and help in 2021.

Would rather another corner over wide receiver

Not really because we need brian thomas jr.
You can always move nabers to corner
Boutte is really the only elite receiver

We sure did. Once max got the start we could play with anyone.
BTJ would look great on the field with boutte.

When you have Darren Evans out there in the 4th quarter of a close game...you need another corner

I think our needs are hs ol, transfer ol (help immediately), FS, WLB

We already have 3 safeties signed in this class. Sage may play some CB though.

I hope the last spots are just OL and Cornerback but more specifically Oline.
I'd be super happy if O somehow got Ingram and Deculus to come back but I'm not holding my breath.

Incredible that you have already determined that Boutte is the only elite receiver.

Who else would you consider elite?

Did you miss the part where i said incredible that he has already determined that Boutte is the only elite receiver? Koy Moore, Trey Palmer, or Alex Adams? Just because Boutte has already proved he is elite does not mean the others will not be. Some players don't catch on as fast as others. I recall Jarvis Landry riding the pine his freshman year. Also, he worded it is as if the four receivers we have on board are all assumed to be less of players than Brian Thomas. Just incredible that you guys have such foresight. Need to put that to use on the lottery.

Settle down, buddy. I just asked you where you were coming from.
Seems like you're the one with the foresight projecting elite status on guys who might end up elite someday.
As it stands today, Boutte is the only elite guy we have. Do you really disagree with this?
I think Koy is solid, but I definitely haven't seen any glimmer of elite from him. Palmer has been here 2 years and has disappointed so far. Usually an elite player will show out as a sophomore. It's not like he didn't have an opportunity this year, but clearly Jenkins, Moore and Boutte are ahead of him on the depth chart. Last spring there were even rumors he might switch to defense because of his hands. I don't give up on guys, but I've got serious concerns he ever comes close to his recruiting rankings.

Im projecting elite status on guys by saying its incredible we are already determining who is elite and who is not after there freshman and sophomore seasons. Gotcha. Good thing the coaches didnt use the measuring sticks you guys do on player like Joe Burrow, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, or Patrick Queen. "Guys that didnt FLASH in their freshman or sophomore seasons."
Im really tired of explaining myself so ill try one more time. I know that Boutte is elite. But the initial comment we are discussing completely disregarded the other receivers we have currently and incoming because of a recruiting ranking that is beside Brian Thomas' name. I believe in development and maturity. Every player that comes will have their opportunity to prove they are elite. It may come when they are freshman (Boutte) or seniors (Burrow). My point is just because it doesn't happen instantly doesn't mean it wont. So stop with the comments that insinuate we should find replacements for players that did not FLASH as freshman.

Palmer’s speed gives him elite potential if he can get his hands on track.

Jugs. Please just do whatever Brady did in the offseason!

Chase, Odell Beckham, Jefferson, and Landry some of our best most recent WRs didn’t show real elite status until their junior years (except for Chase). Most were just solid their sophomore years. It isn’t just the WR but the QB needs to have a trust for that WR for him to even get a ball thrown to him.
I saw WRs running open all night tonight but Johnson happen to see Boutte because they have been working together on their own time. Imo it’s up to both the WRs and QBs to work with each other on their own time so they both trust each other. If they all do this their skills will show more.
Koy Moore may not be elite just yet but I’ve seen him show elite flashes and contest balls in the air when he’s got his chance. Racey McMath was showing his skills early in the season, as was Jenkins. While these guys may not be elite, they’re solid WRs that can move the ball down the field, which is the point.
Just because we don’t have 5 Chase type WRs doesn’t mean we are hurting for talent and the pressure is on to recruit WRs (which we’re doing at a high level anyway). I’m just making a general statement to anyone. We have plenty of SEC level WRs. We could use more to step up but I don’t think we’re hurting for WRs or need WRs more than other positions, which was the point of the whole argument.
This season wasn’t a typical season with a long offseason to train with each other and let the coaches do their jobs. Hopefully that changes this off-season and we have 2 or 3 more show out. Even Marshall was having issues getting open at the start of the year. I just hope football and life altogether gets back on track in 2021!

You're way too worked up about this. Who's giving up on anyone? Right now, today, we have one elite receiver in the program. Hopefully others get there. Only time will tell.
But examine the numbers.
For the 2021 class, we only have 2 guys who are definitely going to be receivers.
In 2020 we took three guys and one of them i haven't seen since the first game (Adams).
2019 we only have Palmer, since Lee got moved to defense and now tight end. I'm not giving up on Palmer yet, but his hands are really a problem. I mean, he's not even returning punts anymore. Why is that?
2018 we only have Jenkins left.
That's simply not enough guys. Now, is there a corner prospect out there that's better than Nabors? If so I might change my opinion on taking BTJ. But I haven't heard of any other corners on the radar except Balfour. And I really don't know much about him, so I'm skeptical he's better than Nabors.

I believe what you are doing in logic is known as a straw-man fallacy. Not once did I argue we should take another corner over wideout. My initial post is completely wrapped around the idea of determining who is elite and who is not after their first couple of years in college. And the post I initially responded to acted as if Brain Thomas is a sure thing because of a little ranking next to his name. Which is the exact reason why people on this board continue to have complete meltdowns every single recruiting cycle. The bottom line is we don't know and to insinuate that a kid does not have the skills to be elite from your sofa just ticks me off.

Good Lord, man. The person chalky was replying to said he'd rather a CB than another wide out. That's how this whole dumb argument for started.

Take it easy, buddy. Get off your high horse. Nobody's bashing anyone here. And no shite nobody knows. I'm saying we could use another wide receiver in this class and right now Boutte is the only one we have that's elite.
