Honestly at this point I think there are a lot of freaking maybes. Pelini is going to cost a fortune to can and he may be selling the admin on the notion that he needs "his guys" to make a successful transition to a 4-3. That may be true, but it should never have been this bad.

Maybe Bill Johnson goes, but we had a really good DL haul.

Cregg could be hanging by a thread because at this point his X's and O's aren't good and he is struggling to pull the Jimmys and Joes.

Linehan has ties to Nuss, but he's signed and I don't think he's a deal breaker. Anyway, if someone can explain how Linehan is value added I'd like to know.

Ensminger? TYFYS, but it's time to sip pina coladas on a beach somewhere.

O's fate is tied more to the Title IX mess than job performance at this point (JMHO). That being said, he's demonstrated a significant lack of focus and self control following the 2019 historic season. If you want sustained success you have to keep your eyes on the prize.

Take his time lol

He hired Bo Pelini who was washed up.. didnt do any research on who was available. IMO we could have done better since Pelini is the 3rd or 4th highest paid DC.

If E is going to retire, the best thing he can do is announce that immediately after the game. Days can be critical at this time with other head-coaches already having been canned and multiple schools making searches that can include OC's. That would be the best thing for E to do for his beloved LSU if that is his intention.

Nobody has ever seemed to fault E as a TE coach. Even if he's not ready to retire, take a real hard look at what is out there as concerns long term OC options. If all the stars line up for a grand slam hire, pull the trigger and make that move.

I'm on the fence on Pelini only because of the improvement the past two games. Other than the loss of Koht, most of the desired recruits have been maintained and brought in for his style of defense. Let that play out as appropriate. Otherwise, we could have another year of Spring affected by Covid affecting implementation of another new defensive scheme. Doing that now if we have three consecutive games of good defensive showings doesn't necessarily make sense.

I think Pelini will most likely stay.
I dont think we should keep Ensminger but they arent going off my opinion so he will stay as well unfortunately.

So you think that the coach overseeing one of the worst defenses in LSU history will stay; but, the guy who (regardless how big or small a role he played) just oversaw the best offense in history 1 year ago and -despite losing the starting QB, playing true freshmen as backups the majority of the season, new OL, and losing one of the best receivers before the season started - has still managed to have the offense scoring 30 pts/gm and in the top half of SEC offenses, you think that guy should go? Yeah, that makes sense.

I think you’re gonna be royally disappointed. Doubt anyone gets canned.

I agree with this. There will probably be a few changes, because coaches get other offers, but we're probably not firing anyone. And I don't think we should.

Lol it might not say that in the press release but people are getting fired

The people who think there won’t be multiple staff changes because of money are idiots

Also the people who think the D was good against Florida are even bigger idiots

I can’t imagine being this stupid. Bo has shown absolutely no improvement over his entire historically bad season

This is demonstrably false. The season opened against a shitty Miss State offense that dominated us on almost every play. Last week we played an excellent Florida offense that got a lot of yards but was forced into three turnovers, and was forced to punt three straight times at the end of the fourth quarter.

Also, The Florida offense only netted 24 points against our defense, which was responsible for 10 points.

They both should get the opportunity to coach next year due to everything surrounding this year.

Ensminger has been given several years, and the only year he was successful was when Joe Brady was here. It's not a coincidence. Every other year has been very meh on offense.

As far as Pelini, LSU is ranked 121 out of 127 defensively. With the talent LSU has, there is no excuse for this. Not Covid, not losing players to draft...nothing. A drop off? Sure. But ranking 6 spots from dead last IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY is unacceptable for a program of the caliber of LSU.

All that being said, Orgeron won't fire Pelini. We are stuck with him for at least another year.

Ensminger isn't going to retire either. So we basically will have this same staff next year. The goalposts will be moved by all the excuse makers and we will once again realize that Orgeron is incapable of getting out of his own way.

When I was back in corporate many years ago...the VP of the company personally called the Regional Sales Manager Christmas Eve and fired him...we believed it was something personal.

600 plus yards is inexcusable

Pelini has no part of the Florida victory though. That was all on the players just saying no more and making plays. They still gave up 608 yards. I just don’t see how O can sell keeping Pelini to the fan base after this year. Yea it will be expensive but if they kept the same staff and this happened again next year it would be catastrophic.

Buyout is already being negotiated, Pelini mutually wants out.

LSU's reasoning for keeping BO is: He's new and will make the excuse it was a weird year.. and we lost a lot of players. Neither is a good excuse for our lack defense.

I think we have play makers that make coach E look better than he is. Joe Brady was calling a lot of the plays last year and Ensminger's offense is so predictable.
