I really hate the silent commitment crap

The time for commitments is over! I someone wants to hold off telling the world for some stupid reason, so be it, but sign on the damn line so we can figure out where the holes are and fill out the class.
There are plenty of examples of us getting screwed over the past handful of years. With the ESD, this has become an even bigger issue.
If you really cared about the university, you wouldn't leave them in a precarious situation. Your 10 seconds of fame for your commit shouldn't hold a candle to the TV time you should anticipate whooping arse on the field. PRIORITZE.
If you don't sign, your offer gets pulled and we go looking for someone who wants to be a TIGER! PERIOD.
Then, if you are still holding out until the last minute and we still have a scholy available at that time you can have it.

If you’re a “silent” commit before ESD and you don’t sign then you’re not a commit and the coaching staff should act appropriately.
If you’re “committed” to a school by December then there’s no reason not to sign in December.

Then u go from a top 5 recruiting class every year to top 15 recruiting class. The big fish have multiple options, they will just move on from LSU and go to the team that "shows them love"

This wouldn’t be that huge of an issue if we had a legit coaching staff that could coach kids up. Imagine what Chris Peterson could have done at Boise St if he was getting a top 15 class. And this is to say. I would rather have coaches that don’t have to rely on having the greatest talent to necessarily be successful.

Give me (1) legitimate reason for not SIGNING on ESD?
I don't care about the disclosure date.
If you think you can name one, go back and see the original post. If they truly cared about the university they wouldn't screw them by not signing.
TODAY you got a chance to see what happens to classes when people bail. We were both the winner and loser of this. But....we have time to recover between now and the last signing date.
If we hold out hope for (silent commits) there is no time to recover if they bail.

I think that’s how the staff has played it honestly... if your referring to Coach O talking about having 2 silent commits what if (in a conspiracy theorist mindset) that’s a smoke screen for Leigh and Foreman who both originally said they would sign today and announce on NSD?
Maybe they did just that and signed with LSU today and are now saying that they won’t sign until NSD so word doesn’t get out and they can have their moment while LSU still gets their assurance by having both LOI’s faxed in
May be a pipe dream but definitely possible

4EverLSU...I agree, and if that is the case. GREAT.
We have no chance of getting screwed if they already inked and we can move on to fill the remaining spots.
But if we, along with OU have a silent commit from our dream LT. One of us will be left holding a bag of WTF.

NOTHING MATTERS UNTIL THE PEN HITS THE PAPER, "COMMITMENTS" ARE MEANINGLESS!
the commitment bullshite was developed by these recruiting sites to sell memberships and draw audiences

From what I understand, we don’t have silent commits. We have two silent signees. We’re just holding them until they’re announcement date.

1 legitimate reason? That’s easy. Programs are dumping huge amounts of money and resources towards these kids. You are from a poor family and schools are flying you in, treating you like royalty, money changing hands.
People who think like you are like our offensive coordinator. Outdated thinking. You are recruiting kids. You adapt to their line of thinking if you want their signature.

Silent commits means "i am working on it, but I have no idea who is actually going to commit/Need to buy time" I just wish this terminology wasnt even used. Just say youre working on it. No such thing as a silent commit. The coaches know that better than anyone

Another reason for someone to hold off signing early is grade issues. You can’t sign unless you’re eligible, but that’s also an extended circumstance

Exactly, you nailed it. "Programs are dumping huge amounts of money and resources towards these kids"
That is why they owe it to the school they are going to be eventually signing with to sign early so the school can either plan to have them in or out.
Unlike Clemson, LSU has never told anyone they couldn't take visits after they commit, much less sign.

JoJo got “shown love” for a full year and sucked off Bama the minute they made one call.
If these guys need to be shown love at all times they are prime candidates to jump in the transfer portal. Red flags

He had 3 or more losses 5 out of 6 years in the freaking Pac 10. He had 4 or more losses 4 years.

Better than a loud decommit

These silents have signed already. It is not putting any more strain on the staff. Literally the only people it impacts are bitchy fans.
