4 things won that game last night IMO

1. Max Johnson played with guts, had really good pocket awareness, and threw the ball with touch and accuracy. He also didn’t make any big mistakes. Kid was composed, and he played a hell of a game.
2. The Defense, while getting torched, played with more toughness and intensity than they have all year, and it paid off in creating turnovers. I believe that turnovers are predominately the result of effort. Our Defense gave up a lot, but they played with more effort than any game this season.
3. Opt outs, injuries, and quitters put young, hungry guys in a position to go out and prove themselves, and they played hungry. The guys on the field looked like they wanted to be there. They played with pride. Hell, I was proud just watching them.
4. Our Coaches outcoached UF’s Coaches. I know there’s a lot of talk about bad coaching this year, but our game plan was better than theirs. Our players were more motivated than theirs. Our execution was better than theirs. All of those things can be attributed, in part, to coaching. Even on Defense, our young players were in position most of the time. They didn’t look nearly as confused as they have in most games this season. They were coached up for this game.

Well said. Enjoyed watching a Tigers team fight like hell last night.

You might get some heat for #4 but you are right. If you can watch the game objectively and understand all things are relative then it seems obvious that we out coached them. Very proud of the players and coaches for how much heart they showed last night.

and pitts didn't play.

5. The fog setting in eliminated Trask’s long loping bombs which were killing us.

Shows how having to play without an impact guy affects a team.

Max really reminded me of Matt Mauck in 2001 playing for an injured Rohan.

This is weak. Neither did Stingley, Chase, Marshall, Gilbert, etc, etc, etc... Don’t even talk to LSU about who didn’t play.

Good summary. We have a solid base of talent. Max might have given the offense more confidence. Brennan and Finley Cannot run zone read or RPO really. The QB runs early really helped

The fog and Pitts did not become reasons we won. We did not have Stingley. Lost Flott and both running backs. Did not have MLB. WHatever... LSU very short handed .. could easily have given up
Btw defenses have to win with big plays. Sacks and turnovers. There is no stopping these offenses with athletes and good QBs

A great and accurate observation on the Tigers play last night.

And Stingley, Marshall and Gilbert didn’t play.

Did anyone feel like they were watching a Les Miles game last night. The strange interception that hit two players, the lucky call with the shoe, the 57 yd FG, UF missing a 51 yarder to tie, just barely squeaking out a win...

And neither did Stingley...
Or Gilbert or Marshall or Baskerville and...see how that one works?

I agree and especially with 3. They looked hungry and what I liked, even after giving up big plays, they kept fighting. This freshmen class is special.

Absolutely.
But unlike in the Les days, LSU (because of the opt-outs, injuries, etc) probably didn't have the better team. Les would have the better team and STILL need all that wacky shite to happen just to eek out a win in a game that shouldn't have been close. Last night's LSU team probably needed some of those beaks to go their way
