How much did this end up raising for this poor man? I feel terrible for him and his kids. Hopefully he was able to raise enough to take his kids on a well needed trip soon. They’re going to need some down time after this settles down. Jesus, I just can’t imagine what he’s going through. What a freak thing to happen.

At the end of the day it doesn’t matter.

The act or conviction we have to give and to help others is for us. Equally as blessed.

If it is big enough clot, person can be gone in seconds. It’s a real thing for sure

Like what the poster above said about a trip with his kids. When things settle down a little bit for him that would be a nice getaway. Again god bless this man and his family. What a terrible situation to be going through

I hope someone is able to check on him. The combination of a lot of Xanax and Opiates can be very dicey.

This sounds like malpractice. Maybe an OT attorney in Bamaland could take the case.

Boycotting isn't cancel culture. No one here has called for something to be banned. They just don't buy it. See the difference?

As I learned this year, it’s difficult for a person to win a malpractice case.

The new stuff is strong. Switch back to schwag. I for one love budder, shatter, crumble and diamonds and all the new ways of it coming.

Based on what? Bad outcome does not equal malpractice

I would imagine it's pretty hard to prove malpractice, especially if it's something like a blood clot leading to a pulmonary embolism. I wouldn't consider that malpractice.

Wow.
People wonder why the cost of healthcare is so high.
I agree it's an AWFUL thing. But malpractice? Come on, dude. PE are a risk anytime you have surgery. If you are a smoker or are not in good shape, your risk is higher. It's one of the possible but improbable complications that you acknowledge and sign off for when you go for your preop.

Awesome. Anyone still have the link? I'd like to throw in some money. I know he just got over a nasty bout of COVID and now this. I tried putting myself in his shoes and I couldn't bear the thought.

This.

Believe it or not, a provider can do everything right and the patient still has a bad outcome.
