With Russell at quarterback you scored 14 against our starters in 3 quarters....now with Hatch you say 56....

thanks man...had a long day, and needed a good laugh.

In case you forgot, App St hung in there with LSU with JR and the best team never to win the national championship.

You're worse than the delusional idiots, and have no basis in reality, or comprehension of what constitutes "hanging in there". I'm embarrassed dumbasses like you are Tiger fans.

This coming from the guy that stated

LSU will not be able to run....period.
then went back and edited the statement over 9 hours later...

The fantasy is LSU losing badly and APP st winning soundly.
this bastards prediction is LSU 38 Scrappy Appy 10

we could have a Junior High offense. Our defense alone could win this game for us.. Our defense is bigger, faster, stronger, and deeper than crAPPY STATE. crAPPY wont score more than 2 times (being very generous)..

If Les Miles put Nick Nolte, Kerri Strug, and Danny DeVito in a bag and shook it up, whoever he pulled out could start against App State for a game. That is how inconsequential the quarterback is in the App vs LSU equation.

I laughed really hard at that, and also really wouldnt mind seeing it as well.

I met a guy from App. st at a conference. We both had posters next to each other and it was a couple days after the BCS CG, so naturally the discussion turned to football. He told me that Michigan was supposed to be LSU, that originally they were scheduled to play LSU to open 07 instead of Michigan. I don't know how true that is, but they guy seemed cock sure App would have won, as if LSU dodged a bullet by opening with Virginia Tech instead of App. St. ?!??

When I asked him why App St doesn't go IA, he said its because the school is getting so many applicants now that they are three time (or however many time) 1AA champs and that if they went IA they would lose all that fame. fricking chickens! They're clearly good enough to play in the mid to low echelons of IA football, but they choose not because they like being lower division champs better than being upper division nobodies.

Call us delusional after the LSU game if we lose..Until then we are riding a wave of confidence, that will hopefully not end anytime soon...Deludional is a team that sucks every year all while thinking they are the #1 team in the nation..Hard to be delusional when you are #1 and keep winning championships..

I do get the impression that a lot of App State fans think their team's overall talent level is a lot higher than it actually is. I think beating Michigan made them think they had a talent level comparable to that of the Wolverines and other top 25 caliber BCS league programs. And I think such a belief is false.

I think you need to remember that the "mid to low echelons" of I-A includes the Sun Belt and MAC. The Sun Belt, since its inception, is 4-8 against the nearby I-AA Southland. MAC champion Central Michigan lost by 44-14 to transitional (from D-II) I-AA North Dakota State last season.

I don't think there's any doubt that the team Appalachian State had last year would, if it had been in the Sun Belt or MAC, have had a shot at a conference championship.

Especially the woeful Sun Belt. That league is 2-9 against I-AAs that went on to make the playoffs. The MAC is a little better at 21-27 against such teams; plus it's 9-13 over the past 10 years. Course during the past 10 seasons the MAC squads were always playing those games at home too.
