GREAT GAME FOR LSU
Although I was not one of the guys running my mouth on this site, I will eat crow for them since they prolly wont show their face for a while. I was very impressed with everything yall did today. At the same time I was even more frustrated with the way the day went for the apps. LSU is everything they are advertised to be and then some. However the dropped passes and basic mistakes/penalties from our guys where unexpected and really hard to watch, but we will only grow from that stuff. Not to mention, that is what happens when you are over matched and under pressure. I will be pulling for yall the rest of the way. Thanks for the wake up call, I think some of our fans needed it.By the way,did yall feel like when the game got moved up it lost almost all of its hype? I felt that way, but I wasnt there.
GO APPS

You guys have too much talent not to be in the hunt. the QB situation will work itself out. I expect you guys to win games ala the Ravens with Dilfer at QB: strong defense, good special teams play and a QB that just has to manage the game, not be spectacular
They were poorly prepared for us. We surprised them with our overall team speed. Henne missed some passes. Our defense played the game of their lives. Michigan's recievers rarely beat our DB's. AE was 7-7 with 4 total tds in the first half. We blocked two kicks in the 2nd half.
Overall a perfect storm, stars alligned whatever cliche you want to use.
We also only played 29 players the entire game.

re: Legitimate Questions for the APP State fans..

Back in the late 90's, this same question came up. Recommendations from the student panel (which i was a member of) were:
* 4 lane highways from Charlotte to Boone and Winston-Salem to Boone (of course this was something that ASU had no control over)
* More hotel rooms (which ASU had no control)
* Increase attendance at home games (back then we were averaging in 12-13k range, 1A required 17k average)
* Increase marketing in Charlotte, Triad and Triangle areas (all within 3hrs driving)
* Stadium expansion and what conference we would join
Of course this was just after Marshall had left the SoCon to go 1A and they were very good the 1st couple of years of 1A football. I think some of our Alumni at the time had some marshall envy.
Now, most of the tools are in place for us to go FBS. Personally, I dont want App to go FBS. I know making the bowl game on the smurf turf pays more money, but I love the fact FCS decides the NC on the field.

That's true why Wake won't play you guys. However, it is still tremendously difficult to compete with the FBS divison schools.
Coach Grobe stated after the 2001 game that he was not scheduling App State anymore. His statement to me was "scheduling App would be bold, but when he plays a FCS school, he wants to play his starters no more than a half...you cant do that with App State"

Armanti Edwards
i agree that he is talented enough to play D-1, but the mich game was just one game against a D-1 school. what if he had to play 12 games a year against these powerhouses at 175lbs.
people question how long tebow can do it... hes as big as a linebacker.
i would question armanti's durability. if he does to lsu what he did to mich, then i might be convinced.
I dont think you will find many APP fans that will say we can compete week to week with teams in the BCS...One game, yes...12 game season, not right now
AE will be the best QB Aug 30 in TS
