Crawl space but the master is on the 2nd floor
We used Suntouch, master bath on the 2nd floor, and have marble flooring.

what kind did you go with? did you do them in your shower? How many sq feet? How much did it run you?
Did not put anything under the shower - our contractor recommended against that. Obviously water is going to cause damage if it gets into the floor element wiring so having it under the shower could risk the whole system.
$1,000 for 26 sqft installed, included the controller, sensor, meter, membrane, self leveler and a 20a home run for power.

I installed the Kerdi Heat stuff when I did the masterbath. No issues here.

I installed mine in the shower also because that's what she wanted. I think the shower floor is silly because the water will heat it up, but if you do a 2 wire/zoned system the only risk is the part in the shower doesn't work. It won't ruin the other wire.

Not worth it, and a potential source of condensation damage. Warm floor, cold air, high moisture environment......no thanks.
Ehhh, I don't agree. Warm floors will be less likely to produce condensation.

Will be starting construction on a new home in a couple of weeks in South La. Our master bath will have a wet room. From the research I did several months ago, a few websites recommended heated floors in the wet room to to help dry out the grout/tile which aids in preventing mildew. It made sense to me at the time so, we decided to go with it to be on the safe side.
Are we pissing away 1k - 2k or worth it?

I just got back from our place in the country (in MS).
Almost EVERY time I go, I tell myself I should have put heated floors in the bathroom.

Not worth it.

Built our house in 2005, SunTouch heated floor in the MBR. Still toasty a few minutes ago when I went to take a piss.
If my math is correct, that's 16 years.

I'm in Dallas - we redid our master bath earlier this year and added heated floors and they are amazing.
Set on a timer, zero condensation, very much worth it.
I did a lot of research on them so can answer any specific questions.
This!
I installed them in bathroom during remodel and have NO regrets....
