Ease up on defense applause

Mond and his receivers were beyond horrible.
The Dline did well.
Pump the homer breaks on assigning credit to Pelini's D improving.
If we hold Bama, then applause will be more than warranted.
In the meantime, don't be fooled.

Yeah Missouri was amazing
Improvement is improvement
Even if that means making a bad QB look bad and not like a Heisman candidate

It was a very good performance, good enough to win. Looked like they wanted to play too.

I agree. The D Line was good against Arkansas, but this was the first game where the entire defense looked and played confident. They were aggressive and actually tackled well. It wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely a lot better than even the Vandy game.

No positivity!
Y’all got it?

Bama and Florida will hang 50 on us the next 2 weeks. This entire board will be screaming for Pelini’s head

Gotta keep that anti-Pelini momentum goin, huh Baw?

Stingley looked healthy, first time this season. That shores up a lot on defense.

We are beyond the point where we can miss an opportunity to cheer.

I blame Pelini for the pick six as well

Hold Bama to what?
I think it’s pretty safe to say that the defense will look worse against Bama than they did against aTm. And yes, Mond had a bad night. But the defense still showed improvement.
Honestly, the best sign for me was how they looked against the run game. Gap assignments looked MUCH better. Angles were better. Tackling was better.
So yeah Bama will probably make us look foolish, but that’s because Bama will be the best offense we have faced all year. By a mile.

A&M is now fourth in the SEC in scoring and fifth in total yardage.
They are actually pretty good.

I liked the way the D played. One instance that really made me question Pelini’s intelligence was on the last real play of the first half. A&M was right on the edge of field goal range with 7 seconds left. I watched him tell the DB’s to keep moving back and they threw a quick 5 yard out route to make it a 45 yard field goal instead of 50. When we all knew that is what A&M wanted to do.....

Likely, but how many of those will be due to our defense getting tired because we have zero offense?
Against Auburn they held their own for a bit, but punting every time breaks every defense.

Meh it looked a lot better than it was.
We got almost no pressure all game. Mond missed like 5 huge plays just by being shite. Guys were open.
There were positives. We did a bit better sealing edges. And we were willing tacklers. I give Flott/Stingley/Micah a ton of credit in that area.
It was a way better performance. But not as good as some are claiming.

I didn’t like the call either, but I think they were trying to bait Mond into a pick and just didn’t execute it. Watching the replay, one of the corners broke on the pass we all knew was coming the moment Mond turned that direction. He was just a 1/2 second too late.
Even if this was the reason for dropping coverage, it was too cute. They should have just played it straight up and made their kicker hit a longer one.

Give credit where credit is due. What’s wrong with you, you want the defense to be terrible?

Agreed. And if Bo hadn't been yelling at Boutte during his near TD catch, he wouldnt have bobbled it and we might've won.
