THey owe the University loyalty and to finish their end of the bargain, which is to perform with maturity and respect. Quitting on your team with three games left are neither.

What if to a man, all the players on the team have no problem with what Marshall Did?

As soon as the pandemic is over, LSU football will be right back to printing money. My statement was big picture.

Yeah, it sucks as a fan, but it is very selfish of you if you are angry about someone trying to protect their future, especially when the team isn't even .500.

The school needs to drop a prorated bill for tuition and next time he goes to the eat or team facilities he needs to be declined.

You are correct. But fans have options with their money. If we don’t like it don’t go to the games and don’t spend your money. Real simple.

Agree completely. Point still stands that he is not obligated to play 3 meaningless games for our entertainment, and our fan base should be human enough to realize that he is trying to protect his future. We should be happy for him. I am.

The only reason anyone truly cared about Marshall’s football career was the name on the front of his jersey, not the back. He’s now told us he’s done with us, so I’m done with him. His message was clear. No one said he was obligated to do anything. But with decisions like this, there was also the known by-product his decision would not be largely well-received by LSU fans. He knew that when he made the decision to quit. It’s not my obligation to support a decision that hurts the LSU team. I have no ties to Marshall outside him being an LSU football player. He’s not one anymore. That was his choice.

I dont owe college athlete anything either so we are even.

I'm an LSU fan not a Marshall fan or Chase fan or Brennan fan.

My Fandom is for LSU, period.

So to say fans owe anything to players is asinine. Sorry its harsh but true.

“College athletes owe us nothing,” - no shite.

This is one of the dumbest things I see repeated over and over on TD, year after year.

Of course they owe me nothing. I don’t even know them. I don’t owe you anything either. So what? Does that invalidate anyone’s opinion on quitting on your team? No.

My opinion is that players should finish the season that they start. I think it is morally wrong to quit. Now some people might think money is more important, and that’s okay. But I will never agree with them.

And I say this knowing fully that Terrace Marshall does not know me or care what I think or “owe” me anything. He’s still wrong.

The truth is nobody truly cares of his future, he is an LSU football player once he is gone, whatever happens, happens.

Its harsh but that's life and the name of the game.

99.99999999% of fans are fans of their school not of a player.

Maybe he doesn't owe the fans "nothing" but he owes LSU close to 100K
