To you maybe. Some people develop a bond with their pets. There is a reason they are called man’s best friend.

I have too much respect for my dog to put a bullet in his brain. To each their own. I just find it off putting that people brag about how little it cost to shoot their dog in the head. Like it makes you a badass or something. It’s one thing to pull the trigger, it’s a different level of creepy to pull the trigger and brag about it.

Who’s bragging? It’s a pragmatic solution. What’s more ridiculous: being ok with ending an animals life at your own hands or being ok with wasting thousands of dollars to keep an animal alive?

Life lesson at 14. Dog got in poison and the vet said there was nothing he could do. So Dad said he's your dog you have to decide if he suffers or if you can the pull the trigger. And he certainly wasn't being cheap but rather teaching how to man up and deal with unpleasant things. Thunder went away loved.

Coon, I think you and I are arguing a point that many of the Gen X and Millenial generation simply don't understand. They like to have their dirty work done by others and prefer to "Call the man" when things get nasty and tough choices need to be made.

Like you said, I wasn't bragging, just giving a simple solution to a problem where the end result is the same when it comes to putting down an animal, even if it is a pet.

These same folk probably couldn't think of living off-grid and having to deal with the task of killing hogs, chickens that no longer lay eggs, meat rabbits, etc. for food.
