I'm digging it. All caught up on the first 3 episodes. Kaley plays a helluva trainwreck. The pacing is solid and I'm looking forward to where the story goes.
Agreed. She plays a great hot mess.
It’s certainly not something you want to over analyze or take too seriously. But it seems like a good and fast paced dark whodunnit. I’m in.

The 1962 noir aesthetic, especially music & cinematography is delicious.

I watched all three episodes in one sitting. It was pretty good. I’ll keep watching

They are doing this anyway. I read the book and it was good. Cassie was a hot mess in a pathetic, sad way.
So many unnecessary changes to the plot. I didn’t make it through the first episode.

Watched the first 3 eps, lawyer friend is annoying af, being the cliche super independent non-emotional female who only needs a man for his dong.
Other then that, I really dig characters like Penny, who are slave's to the bottle and as result all of their misguided decisions are for my enjoyment.

Had no idea this was an adaptation.

Kind of like Netflix' Dead to Me vibe

I see nipple in that first pic.

I have been watching and enjoying this show. The girl in it has a tatoo on her back that reminds me of gijoe shipwreck. Tatoo sucks.

Kaley Cuoco. The moth on her upper back is a coverup of some Roman numerals post divorce.

I didnt know all that. This guy didn't either.

Seems a little overkill, but whatevs. A reasonable assumption would be not to celebrate something as transient as a Hollywood marriage with the permanence of a tattoo.

I'm getting a little tired of the hysterics in every single situation. Panicking and running into everything.

Yes. Read the book - Chris Bohanian. It was dark, and sad. The first episode of the series seemed campy and trite - a complete departure from the novel.

Kaley Cuoco is an absolute smoke show!
Wish I had HBO Max.

not knowing who Kaley Cuoco was beforehand..
She played Penny on The Big Bang Theory for 12 years, one of the greatest sitcoms of all time.
Before that she was Bridget Hennessy on 8 Simple Rules for Dating my Teenage Daughter w/the late John Ritter.

OK, 7 of the 8 episodes have now been released. Instead of just portraying her as a drunk on a downward spiral, the later episodes take a harsh look at her past, as she comes to realize that she had been suppressing memories of what her childhood was really like. It reminded me of the TBBT episode where Bernadette and Amy made Penny realize that she was the bully in high school.
Kaley's production company had optioned the rights to the novel, and she is an executive producer. I think this was a brilliant move on her part. She plays a Penny-like character that will draw in viewers, and then takes Penny to a far more intense emotional place that she never could on TBBT. She is a good actor and I think this will help her get parts that people may not have previously considered her for. (Or she can just keep producing her own projects.)

The show gets more intense and dark as it goes along. Did you keep watching?

No, because right off the bat there were too many silly, unnecessary changes to the plot.
