Xbox 360 not reading some games

I don't have the "red ring of death," but it won't load some of the games we have. Does anyone have any tips on fixing the problem? Or should I just watch Ebay for a decently priced replacement?
I would just give up on it, but my six-year old has just gotten interested in video games and would enjoy playing it.
Thank you for your help!

Could be the discs themselves that are the problem

Instead of trying to run the game on the disc try downloading in it to your hard drive. After that you’ll still need the disc to play the game but all it will do is read the disc right when you put it in but then play it from your hard drive.

This, sometimes the paint scheme on the disk can cause issues, especially with older gaming systems.

Make sure the eye is clear of debris. That's all I got.
If you have to take it somewhere to get it repaired, it'd probably be cheaper to just buy one off eBay (or maybe even an Xbox One, at this point).

Yea just get a Xbox One. Most 360 games are backwards compatible. If you pick up a used Xbox One X you'll have a 4K blue ray player too.

I'm thinking the laser is the most likely culprit. If a cleaning disc doesn't fix it, I'll likely check out Ebay.
Thanks to everyone for the help.

I used that, didn’t work for me. It started off with a few games at first like OP but at some point none of the games other than one worked. Thought about getting an Xbox One but too many games I wanted to play (like NCAA FB 14) were not compatible. I ended up getting a refurbished Xbox 360 Slim for cheap on EBay.
