Best dealership to buy a Tacoma. Don’t mind a road trip from Baton Rouge.

Went and looked today at a few different trucks and really like the Tacoma. Baton Rouge has always been high on new car prices. Any suggestion for a road trip to save a few bucks?

Call the five closest to you, tell them you want their best and final on the specs you want and that you’re asking the same from 4 other dealerships. Tell them you’re buying in 48 hours. Lowest price wins.

Like the other guy said, call them and tell them you're going to hunt for the lowest and in 48 hours you're deciding. When I called around, Ray Brandt in Kenner went lowest for me.

Include a Houston dealership. Consistently lower than anything near BR in my experience

My boss in Birmingham got his Land Cruiser there. They beat all the area dealers on price.

Toyota of Dallas just practically gave me a TRD off road. They gave me 500 more for my 2017 tacoma than what I paid for it new and I refused to pay for all the upgrades on the new truck so got it for 38. They sre hurting right now.

And when they tell you they don't do that over the phone call them out and let them know they are off the list of buyers.
They either double down on stupid or stammer trying to get you to wait.

That’s surprising, a lot of places around here have been having trouble keeping TRDs in stock

I’ll add that my brother in law did this for a Mercedes SUV about 10 or so years ago. There was a 9 thousand dollar range in prices between the 5 dealerships. He called the highest dealership and told them that they were $9k off from the lowest price and their response was that for Mercedes-Benz, it was more about the experience than the price

They had a bunch and in the colors I wanted. All the Toyota dealers I talked to had plenty in stock and wanted my biz but Toyota of Dallas is closest to me. I will also add I tired the calling them up and telling them I was buying within the week and make me the best deal....I also was considering an F150 so contacted Ford dealers. I've had success making a deal by email or phone in the past but no dealer would go that route this time.
