We got nothing to lose with a big armed QB...and we’re gonna need 4 or 5 big plays at least to win. How bout we have some fun and send a lot of our skilled players deep? If nothing else we might open up the run game a little. But with Finley’s arm..I’d tell him just go for it.

I don’t know if you’ve watched 2020 LSU yet but we don’t have true deep threat WRs, except Marshall, and our freshman QB throws a flat deep ball that our WRs can’t get under. The DBs easily defense these passes.

Try again.

A lot of the reasons you are seeing this offense is to protect the defense. It’s all about getting a W

Finley has a great arm but just doesn't trust his deep ball yet

He will get better.
He just started getting all the live reps

What about the game? When we've won, with the freshman QB, we've won by running the ball and protecting the QB. The purpose is to win the game, and that is the simple answer to your question:

What do we have to lose?

Answer: The game!

His deep ball isn't all that accurate yet. It takes more than pure arm strength. Taking a shot here and there makes sense and he should only get better at it.

Yes. There’s a very obvious reason not to- our defense is atrocious. I think your best chance of winning is pounding away with TDP. Control
the clock and hit a few big PA plays. Keep their offense off the field and escape with a win

You X Box heroes drive me nuts. You have no idea of how the game is actually played.

With a struggling O line you want to sit a young QB back there and just stand there and throw the damn ball? Ask Joe Burrow how that worked out for him. Deep balls take time, Sparky. So far this year pocket time is a precious item.

Throwing low percentage passes result in a lot of 3 and outs. Just what our suspect defense needs, right? Is it your theory that more field time in a game will make the defense better?

Explain to me how getting beat up in the pocket, strings of incomplete long passes with a few interceptions thrown in for good measure help the confidence of a young QB. And speaking of confidence, how does watching the opponent light up the scoreboard like a July 4th fireworks display help the confidence of the defense?

Sir or madam, with all due respect you are absolute idiot and know absolutely nothing about football.

The best plan for LSU would be something like Arkansas, a strong running game and ball control to steady Finley and let him take a few shots down the field. If the defense can stop the run and make Mond hold the ball, LSU will have a very good chance to win.
