Trent Richardson was paying for 86 Netflix accounts during his rookie season. Now you can imagine how many light bills, car notes, etc... he was also paying. The pressure is IMMENSE on these young, black millionaires to "rememba wheh you come from", and to support these leeches. The smart ones cut the cord quick. But the stat you quoted show they are rare.

Do you know what “odds are” means?
It means I’m not referring to Fournette specifically but rather to the typical NFL player after leaving the league.

That was when he was at LSU. Supposedly good with his money

It's really hard to go broke if you follow the NFL program. It's all set up for you. If worst comes to worst he's played long enough to be vested in the League pension so he'll never be completely destitute.
The NFL pension plan works on a lot of assumptions. Consider this:
quote:
According to the NFL Alumni, average pensions for players will go from $30,000 per year to $46,000 per year, and more than 10,000 former players will realize that benefit.

46k per year would work for a lot of people, but that's assuming there aren't significant financial liabilities. Lots of players have significant financial liabilities by the time they retire (houses, cars, boats, etc.). It's really not a lot of money if players are living like they're going to be making millions perpetually, which sadly is often the case.

Him being awful with the Bucs kind of disproves that

He’s not a good NFL back

“Loaded boxes”
“Overused & needs to stay fresh”
Now he’s not used enough in an offense with unreal pass catchers all over the field and Tom Brady throwing it.
I appreciate the unbelievable highlights he put out while at LSU but I’m finally in the camp that Fournette is just not a great running back in the NFL. He’s not bigger and stronger than everyone anymore.

Pretty much how Eli Manning felt about football.

Yeah I do. So I assume you go into every thread and make this comment about every former LSU player in the league since you’re just referencing what’s typical and not commenting on him specifically?

You think this is a problem only black people have? This happens with anyone who comes into a shite load of money.

Bust. No vision. No passion. Doesn’t seem to always try very hard.

I think he’s burned out on the game. His body has been beaten to hell since he was a freshman in high school. He’s just hanging around the league because he can’t make that kind of money doing anything else.

I don’t recall ever seeing another thread discussing the financial prospects of other former LSU football players who may be running out of earning years.
But, if you know of such threads then link to them and I’ll be happy to make the same observation in those threads, Ms. Fournette.

Sorry to say it, but he's a stark raving dumbass.

May not have been the money, but he definitely showed that the character act was an act his first offseason going into the NFL, rookie season, and a few times after that.
I know it seems like ppl are saying this just because he’s struggling, but I know what they’re talking about. Significant period of time where he seemed like someone you maybe wouldn’t want in your locker room if things weren’t going great.

And you are a fricking genius?
It's really funny reading the comments of a bunch of internet badasses who have never done shite in their lives crapping on someone that has actually accomplished something.
Just remember whatever he may or may not be, he's done more than you ever will.

Fair point. But average black family net worth is lower than most other ethnicity net worth. That in and of itself would logically lead to more pressure to spread the wealth.
