As far as I know they skated on that
Didn’t one of the parents move here and the coaches paid for the dads condo?

Don't think so. Seems like the tennis player has been in New Zealand for awhile now

The victim herself would lie to the police in order to cover for Davis
It appears that the victim seems to have a lot of issues that made the situation even more difficult to accurately diagnose from the outside (though Davis was clearly a scumbag). The poor family must be dealing with a lot right now as the victim's sister (also a tennis player) unexpectedly died at the age of 23 last year in Washington DC (no cause of death was listed which is usually something sad).

Just wait until her dad comes out. He will burn it all down
Why hasn't the dad already come out?
This happened years ago. Why wasn't the dad screaming from the mountaintop and holding press conferences?
It's easy to understand how a victim would not come forward or be intimidated. But if the dad knew, what was his excuse? Perhaps he contacted coaches or admin privately, but I would blow the fricking system up if it was my daughter.
If Drake Davis was pulling that shite on my daughter, he would currently be missing or dead.

But if the dad knew, what was his excuse?
You think going in front of WAFB during the entire ordeal screaming his daughter is being beaten while she clearly has issues staying with the abuser would be good parenting?
I know y’all love LSU, and want to blame anyone and everyone else, but the father did what he could.

Welp Gov. Smack has weighed in on this situation.
Thank God...I don't think I could have gone on living without him opining.

The tennis coach didn’t bring anything down. The ones that commuted these acts are is bringing this down...

Due process? I dunno.
Not required for firing with cause. Due process applies to a court of law.
They probably haven't been fired them yet because LSU is trying to figure out how to minimize the fallout from the entire situation.

I feel like I remember seeing her name in a local tennks tournament - maybe at Bocage or CCLA in the past year where she played in the mixed open division. I remember being surprised to see her name in the draw and then her result, which let me TI believe she hadn’t been playing as much lately.

Cops, tennis coaches, anyone and everyone you could imagine at LSU...
This is all I see in the article. Why didn't he call off-campus police?

The woman’s father told USA TODAY he spoke to Mike Sell twice in the summer of 2017 about his daughter’s toxic relationship with Davis. In their second call, the father said he specifically stated that Davis had punched her. According to the father, Mike Sell responded, “Couldn’t be possible, wouldn’t be possible.”
Phone records the father shared with USA TODAY corroborate his calls to Mike Sell on two days during that time. The father shared the same information with an LSU police detective in August 2018, a police report shows.

Drinking alcohol and wearing ‘provocative clothing’? So you are basically saying that all girls going out on the weekend deserve it? Are you seriously pulling out that 70’s-80’s era bs? I’m all for waiting to hear both sides, but victim blaming isn’t it either. Surely, as a man you are capable of not humping on every woman that dresses in a way to show off her figure.
Not just deserves to get sexually assaulted but thinks clothes mean she's asking to get beaten. How stupid do you have to be to think she should change her clothing because a guy beat her?

This is terrible and people should be held accountable.

I appreciate your response. I didn’t know what kind of reception my comment would get.

There's no excusing what is being alleged here nor what has already been proven. I hope the people directly responsible are held accountable. Unfortunately, the university and athletic department as a whole, as well as current coaches who may not have been involved at the time, are all going to suffer alongside the responsible parties. It's a sad day for LSU and a bad look for the university that I love. No amount of alumni loyalty or fandom, though, should ever override doing what is right for people who have been harmed or abused. Whatever the penalties may be, I hope the young women affected by these acts have the opportunity to heal and move forward.

I'm not sure why anyone would ever say something like that unless the dad was saying he punched her on a specific night or something and she was with the coach/team on that night away from the area. Otherwise, no one ever know what is or is not possible.
