Better prices, selection, no sales tax, only an FFL fee that should be less than $25.

There is no advantage to buying a new gun locally.

Suggested : Grab-a gun, KYGunco, Bud'sgunshop,

I think the local advantage is helping the local gun shop and the people it employs.

If the same logic was applied across the board, local economies would collapse

So what you are saying is go to your local gun shop to handle and get an idea of what you want and then order it online? Sorta chickenshit in my opinion.

How about this, go to a small gun shop and negotiate a cash deal.

Also, you also forgot to add shipping.

A local shop told me he encourages online. Makes a good haul on FFL.

Except keeping a local business in business. What an ignorant thing to state. GFY.

Not always.
A few weeks ago I bought a gun locally and saved $40 from the best price I could find online, plus the shipping and FFL fee.

Not only that, but the shop where I do a lot of business, he does work for me all the time for no charge, even on guns that I didn't buy from him. and if he makes a trade on something that he knows I will like, he puts it back for me, so I get first chance at it. It's a mutually beneficial thing.

The local small FFL's are also the easiest for gun-control loons to target with frivolous lawsuits. That's why they want the PLCAA repealed, so they can sue anyone who has ever sold a gun that can be traced to a crime.

I personally will pay more locally knowing what I know. But to some people saving a dollar is saving a dollar. So to each their own. Goodluck

For fun I just went to grab-a gun to see what they have. First thing I see is a Smith M&P available $100 higher than the exact one I bought from my local gun shop 2 months ago....

You recommendation is confusing me

Why not both options as I have done. Bought handguns that local shop had and that I wanted. When they didn’t have a specific gun I needed, I found it online and had my local shop accept the transfer as FFL.

Everybody wins in that scenario. We love our local shop and gun range and I support them as they are good folks.

What happens when you drive your local gun store out of business? Who is going to do your transfers?
