Yeah, plus it is a welcome distraction to all the current drama (both on and off the field) with LSU.

One of the first things I noticed and would want to point out regarding the 2022 class is that it has the makings to be very strong offensive line haul. We already have a four-star off and save guard from Alabama committed, and I am hopeful we can close on the two in-state guys that are top 300 level talents. Finally, we are high on the list for several other highly rated tackles out of state.

I will follow up with the names and rankings of these lineman in a subsequent post a little later this afternoon.

Any idea who are some of the top LBs on EdO's wish list?

Matthews instate looks like he's growing into an OLB. He's reportedly in the 210-215 range now as a junior. Also, we're in the running for Daniel Martin out of Marietta.

Also, a name in that article that lsufanva shared a few posts earlier in this thread that intrigues me is Austin Ausberry of U-High. According to the article, he's 6-2 200, runs a 4.45 40, and is a 4 star on Rivals. Sounds like he's having a really good junior season on defense. Not sure where on D he currently plays, but at that size, sounds like he could project to either strong safety or linebacker.

Also, I'm wondering/thinking maybe he's Verge's son? Anyway, seems like a prospect worth monitoring to see how he grows and develops.

Agreed. Tapp and Welch are the lone two (2) guys in that list from LSU has not offered. Etienne May not be and easy play but I feel pretty good about our chances with moss at RB. Likewise I feel good about our shot with the two (2) uncommitted receivers Preston and AJ. Not sure how the staff will approach Matthews as we already have the two Texas stud committed at safety systems and Real railing in a boat load at that position for 2021 class.

I like our chances with the athlete from Shreveport Kendrick law.

What I am scratching my head about is why the staff has not offered Welch as he is apparently pretty damn talented corner back (must be grades or character issues I suppose). We’ll have to wait and see how things play out or the other defensive tackle, Tygee Hill. Our primary target at that position is Walter Nolan, the number one (1) overall prospect in 2022 class. Nolan has LSU high on his list and he was former teammates with Xavier hill and 2021 commit Jalen shead.

Main Takeaway for me is that this 2022 class already has the makings to be a very good one

My question about LBs was in regards to the '22 class. Mathews is in the '21 class? right?

DeColdest Crawford is such a badass name to read.

Hope dude is a stud.

They played Farmerville a couple weeks ago and he was a man amongst boys on the field. Seemed like every time he caught the ball it was a touchdown. Their coach is terrible, if they would have continued to throw they would have beaten Farmerville. Our defense could not stop him. They also have another wr that was bad arse, they both caught everything that was thrown at them. They both made circus catches over our DBs.

I've been wondering the same thing. My guess is that we've have some out of state guys a little higher on the board and wanted to give it a little more time to see how things play out. But Welch does seem like a guy deserving of an offer, regardless. I'm thinking the staff will eventually offer.

I guess we need to add a list of the guys offered by LSU instate and out of state. See what we are working with.

247 LSU 2022 Offer List

Also, If a Max Johnson is still here and not looking to a transfer around this time I think we land Jake Johnson. His brother and number 1 TE in 2022

I think the lack of camps is hurting the staff and kids as a whole. Recruiting is harder. Also normally we hand out instate offers in person. It’s more personable that way, especially to instate kids.

Ok, I will add him. Take it easy man, wasn’t an intentional omission meant to disrespect the kid. Thanks for suggestion, I will get him added right away

Ok, cool. I’ll look into the Newman WR and add him accordingly. Thanks for suggesting.

Regarding the average recruiting rank question, I don’t have that answer at the moment but will see if I can plug it in to our 247sports class calculator and get back to you on it.

Thanks again buddy!

Completely agree with you regarding the Louisiana OL prospects.

In addition to those two (2), we already have four-star (4*) offensive guard committed in Lucas Taylor from AL

I hear ya and I second that motion.

Regardless of his athletic ability, is Le’Veon Moss not the most perfect name for a stud running back or wide receiver!?! Frickin’ love that name!

Regarding LSU’s recruitment of Moss, I believe early indications are all positive and Point to us having a very real shot for him
