#Saints QB Drew Brees suffered a rib contusion in yesterday’s game, and he’ll have an MRI for cartilage damage today. But sources tell me and @TomPelissero that New Orleans is bracing for Brees to miss some time to fully heal.

Feels like a month, but i wish they would give us a timeline

4 to 6 weeks. OUCH. CrabLegs engaged.

Honestly that may be good news. If it can fully heal before the playoffs then that’s great. I was concerned that it wouldn’t heal and he would just have to play through a lot of pain.

well, this is better than his career being over.

Rap has been wrong with saints news alot in the past, so im definitely taking this with a grain of salt

Brees did not look like someone who was coming back soon in his postgame presser

Only way he misses 6 weeks is if jameis is playing really well and Payton wants him rested.

Payton mentioned his back was sore too
It’s possible Drew is dealing with rib, back, and shoulder issues.

Against an AFC team??
I'd rather they just sit him the extra week till the Vikings come to town.

So, throw in a neck & knees and he's just like every other 40+ year old

It doesn't seem like he would miss 6 weeks with a rib contusion. If he has severe cartilage damage maybe, but QBs come back from that with protection usually quicker than 6 weeks.

Homefield with these small crowds doesn't mean nearly as much and the NFC has no dominant teams.
Give me healthy Brees and the 3 seed over banged up Brees and the 1.

True but if there is cartilage or intercostal muscle damage it’s gonna be awhile.
