If keiland doesn't capitalize and have a great career at LSU, it's a huge waste of talent.
There aren't too many 6'0 225 lb runningbacks who run a 4.4 around. He needs to get tougher if that's a problem.
But, at the same time Richard Murphy and Charles Scott are freaking amazing.

First of all, we don't know whether or not it was Williams who fumbled.
Second of all, I hope that Williams isn't under-utilized this season. He is very talented. In my opinion, he is superior to Scott. I am excited about Murphy, though.

Thats the problem when you have to much talent at one posistion. someone will fizzle out. I'm not saying that's what is / has happened to KW, but Alley is a perfect example. If he was the feature back at a program, I don't know if he would have lost his desire.

There are a lot of scrimmages and a lot of time for players to shine or to fade. Too much hype on Murphy?? No, too much hype on KW, yes, both good and bad.

Alley didn't work hard enough to rehab his knee. AB was on his way to having a great career at LSU, before the injury.

I love KW and think he has lots of potential as well, but were we watching the same team last year? What did KW do that was so impressive?
One hurdle against VaTech for an impressive TD run in space ... anything else?
I certainly don't count the misdirection TDs on the play that we use inside the ten yard line because any RB can score on that play if it's run properly against the right defense.
Again, not bashing KW, but he didn't really show anyone anything last year, and anyone who claims he did is blinded by their own hopes that he will be a star.

Exactly. He's pretty much the 3rd best back on the team right now.

Well, off the top of my head, I can think of several great plays Keiland had:
(1) As you alluded to, the amazing run out of the Pistol Formation against VT;
(2) Later in the VT game, he had a thirty yard TD where he ran away from Adibi, one of the best LB's in the nation;
(3) A couple of nice runs out of the option when he was paired with Perilloux in the Florida game;
(4) The long TD against Auburn when he caught a swing pass out of the backfield.
I'm certain there are others.
I think any objective observer would agree that Williams is faster than Scott. You stated that "any RB" could score on the misdirection plays inside the 10, but Keiland often had to use his speed to outrun pursuing defenders on those plays.
Meanwhile, while I like Scott, the most memorable play he made all season was getting stuffed on fourth and 1 against Kentucky.

C'mon, is that all you've got? That stat is so misleading for two very important reasons:
1. The substantial differential in number of carries (225 to 70).
2. The substantial differential in number of carries in short-yardage situations.
Anyone who claims KW was better than JH in 2007 is blidend by the stars. Watch the games again and you'll see why. Again, I think KW is going to be great, but the argument for KW being the starter in 2008 shouldn't be his performance in the 2007 season, because it wasn't all that spectacular.
He's got lots of improving to do, and I'm hopeful that he will and can be the back that we all want him to be.

so you dont count matt flynns td passes on play action bc its easy to burn a defense if its properly ran
