Destiny 2: Beyond Light releasing today

Should be up and running early this afternoon.
Anyone else still playing Destiny? I searched and found some older threads about Shadowkeep but didn't want to bump them.

Do you need to buy shadowkeep to play this? Or is there a way to buy one thing to get caught up?

This may sound dumb, but will me running in on a new Xbox series X do anything to enhance the game (other than quicker loading)?

Always go back to Destiny. Albeit, in relatively short stints. But, to me, it's got great mechanics and the gameplay is smooth as frick.

FOV sliders which was massively needed for consoles. Should be a yuge cosmetic upgrade to the game with next gen consoles.

I jumped into Destiny after the Taken King was released and had a blast. The new Destiny just didn't grab me the same way.

Destiny was the game that finally made me realize that 99% of games today are overhyped bullshite.

All old expansions (including Shadowkeep) and the new one that’s dropping today are on Xbox game pass. If you don’t have game pass tho, I don’t think you have to buy shadowkeep. I think you can just buy Beyond Light.

i did the opening objectives to get things started this afternoon. also went to the tower and my god were things slow. just dumping some weapons from the postmaster was an incredibly bogged down process for me this afternoon.

I just bought the cheapest one for the time being. I don't think you save a whole lot by getting the 4 season bundle so I figured I'll just pay as I go

I saw there was a gun included with one of them, so I was curious. He completed all of the seasons on the PS4 before transferring his account over to Xbox so I am sure he doesn't care about them.

shite reviews coming in so I would hold off. Just an unacceptable amount of content for what they’re charging, no loot pool refreshes, no major sandbox changes, and sun setting is now in effect so if anything the loot pool shrunk with an expansion 
Bungie just can’t stop stepping on their own dicks. Seems like it’s a resource problem along with the fact that the coding foundation of the game is a steaming pile of shite making updates extremely time intensive. They need to get bought out by Microsoft because things are not looking good for this game at the moment.

You definitely save. Each additional season is usually at least $20, and pretty sure there’s 3 of them

I think in general obviously the game will look better on next gen. But, they are actually releasing specific “ next gen updates” in December so I’m sure that will take it to another level.
Downloaded last night and got started back up. Pretty pumped because I purposefully haven’t played since Shadowfall came out. Someone said it best, I always come back, even if for a short while
and I really can’t wait to see it on next gen
