Hello - I come to see advice on somewhere to take the family skiing during the holiday. Preferably Colorado but somewhere affordable. We’re also open to Tenn and North Carolina area.

Affordable and skiing don’t often collide in the same sentence. How many is in your family and what is your budget?

Montana maybe if you want more affordable but places like Whitefish and Big Sky are still not cheap by any means. SLC might be the most affordable but that is if you want to stay in the city which might not be the experience you are looking for.

That is the most expensive week to ski, by a lot. Losing is through the roof! Do the week before or after.

The 1st and 2nd week in January is typically the best time to go. Everyone is exhausted and broke from Christmas and New Year’s.

Nothing like going out west, but I used to go to Banner Elk pretty often and ski at Sugar Mountain. I believe it was Best Western Mountain Lodge we would stay at. Just a neat town. App Mountain always had better snow, but just got used to Sugar.

I am going to be in at Loveland in Dec. Higher elevation so I may regret it, but their customer service really took care of me last year, so I want to support them.

Do it before Christmas(i.e. Dec 21-25) and not after.... December 26-January 1 are the busiest days of the season usually...
