On Sage Ryan: A few weeks ago, I was extremely confident in Ryan choosing LSU. Then, earlier this week, the Tide turned, and a trusted source told me that it would have been Alabama if the decision had come that day. Since that time, LSU has been working overtime, conducting late-night ZOOM calls and pulling out all the stops to assure that this elite homegrown talent at a position of need doesn’t get away. Based on a conversation I’ve had with a trusted source, I’m back on the “Ryan to LSU” train. Am I one-hundred percent sure? No, not at all. Certainties rarely exist in recruitment. That said, I have a feeling that Ryan’s announcement tomorrow, on October 31, will be more of a “Halloween treat” for LSU’s Ed Orgeron than a birthday gift for Alabama’s Nick Saban. (Yes, Saban turns 69 years old tomorrow, but that’s neither here nor there.) Ryan will announce his commitment at about noon CT from the Lafayette Christian gymnasium.

Shortly after Ryan’s announcement, a highly anticipated battle of SEC rivals will kick off from Jordan-Hare Stadium at 2:30 p.m. CT. In today’s report, we’ll look at who has the edge on offense, defense, special teams and intangibles. After that, my weekly predictions.

Nothing said over the last 2 days about Sage coming back to LSU makes me sleep any easier. I think it’s a toss up and Bama still has time to work magic. If he was truly leaning Bama a couple days ago then there was something there that he liked, or believed.
Let’s hope O can close this out. I also don’t believe that he is 100% done after he commits tomorrow. Until the ink is dry, it will be a battle.

O has offered to bring Trev Faulk in staff if Sage comes here. That is helping for what I hear.

The staff should have been doing this until they landed a commitment. Same for Thomas Jr and Smith. If you have 5* talent in your backyard you work around the clock to secure commitments and get them on board. You don't let your guard down and allow a divisional rival to come in and out work your entire staff.

Hopefully they regained ground and secure his commitment, but it doesn't change the fact that the LSU staff clearly botched the recruiting of Ryan (and likely Thomas Jr) over the last month.

His teammates at LCA think he's going to LSU. My nephew is one of them.
