Evangelical Elites Try to Demonize Votes for Trump

Elite Evangelical Goose Step
By legitimizing a vote for a third-party candidate or for sitting the election out, Piper separates himself somewhat from perhaps the most urgent and unifying public priority of many elite evangelicals who also stand accused of being woke by a growing number among their constituencies and erstwhile followers. These elites mean to sanctify votes for Democrats by evangelicals in spite of that party’s aggressive support of abortion on demand. Southern Baptist ethicist Russell Moore did his part four years ago when he insisted that evangelicals who support Trump would have to “repudiate everything they believe.” Pastor Mark Dever of Capitol Hill Baptist Church made his contribution by contrasting the sophisticated multi-issue voting of African Americans with the straw-man stereotype of simpleton, single-issue (read: anti-abortion) voting by white Christians. Pastor David Platt arrives at the shared destination of the elites in his new book, Before You Vote. Now Piper pipes in on the eve of the election with what amounts to a cop-out response that helps Joe Biden and abandons murder-marked babies.

The rank and file evangelicals are Trump minus some feelings get hurt over Trump fighting back types or the liberal evangelical.
If people would look past his personality and grind they will find a hell of a man with solid principles and honorable with flaws. They will see a man who isn’t typical Washington politician and who fights for the unborn and every American whether they can see it or not.

Trump a man of principles? Why don’t you give an example of a principle Trump holds and how he has exhibited it.
How exactly has Trump demonstrated to you that he is an honorable man?
You Trumpers live in a fairy tale world where Trump is honest and principled. But you can’t give simples examples — because he is just the opposite.

No one pays attention to you anymore Tex, you’re a hack and a complete moron. You have no credibility, and quite frankly just a dishonest and morally corrupt idiot.

1) anti-slaughter of the innocents
2) Faithful follower of our constitution.

Reverend Billy Graham was probably the most principled man in my lifetime. He would have been a terrible president. Think Jimmy Carter. Also a principled man. He was a very ineffective president and his failure to win reelection is evidence of that. He lost to a movie star. The pulpit is for principled men, Pennsylvania Ave. is for politicians.
Being principled doesn't make one a better president, just a better man. Think JFK, Clinton and now Trump.

But that wasn't what was being discussed. The poster I was responding to said Trump was principled and honorable and I asked for demonstrative examples, which he has declined to provide.

I stand by previous statements I've made concerning evangelicals being the dumbest people on earth.
They are.
They are.

Let’s face it, most modern-day churches are sad institutions.

Fortunately, I already have a pastor and he would suck as president. I hired Trump’ to run what is probably the largest corporation in the world and he is doing a heck of a good job. He’s a good businessman and a strong constitutionalists. That’s all I asked for. His Christianity is between him and God.
As an aside, most Christians don’t think very highly of evangelicals anyway.

Evangelicals don't have 'elites'. That's a term doled out by the far-left MSM. If all the so-called evangelical elites got together they couldn't fill a Biden rally.

A recent Pew Research Center poll indicated that although Trump’s approval ratings among white evangelicals have slipped slightly to 72%, eight out of ten still say they would vote for him again in November.

Throwing stones, ehhh Pharisee?
You asked, so...
1. Support of Veterans and Military
2. Support of Police and their Fallen
3. His Patriotism and love for America
4. Love for his family (proven in their adoration of him)
5. Unmatched work ethic
6. His straightforward honesty
7. His profession of Faith
I'm sure it doesn't match your list so...

You’re voting for Biden. A lying adulterer who manipulated the country’s foreign policy to benefit his family’s economic interest. Spare us the attempt at the moral high ground.

I hold no delusions of Trump being a great honorable Holy man, but he has stuck by his list of judges and been very principled in his promise to get us out of foreign military entanglements. People have yelled and screamed at him for both of those things but he hasn’t really wavered.
You can not like those two things, but to say hE hAs nO pRinCipLeS at all is just being petty.
To the evangelical leaders thing, I agree with Grudem from yesterday’s article responding to Piper. We aren’t choosing between bad character vs. bad policy. We’re choosing between bad character vs bad character and bad policy.
Assuming that somebody voting for Biden comes by their views honestly, I don’t begrudge a Christian that’s voting for Biden feeling the same way in reverse.

Competence is king. One of the candidates has it.

The rank and file evangelical is a Trump supporter, these mega pastors that bought into critical race theory are little more than pharisees. Further to mock people who make abortion a paramount issue is like mocking those who made abolition a paramount issue.
