A good way to stay on track is to be accurate on 1st and 2nd down and not consistently throw behind or below receivers like MB did.

Yeah, and to catch the f-ing ball like several of his receivers have not done.

And not admit that O likes Brennan for a reason.

Look at the drops, they were often bad throws. Offense wasn't good in those first few games considering like a +7 turnover margin. 9/39 on 3rd downs is inexcusable.

Brennan has a problem with 3rd down. If he cant get by 0/10 then he wont be on the field if others can do better. He has trouble sustaining drives. His passing game is pretty good but what gets you the awards is winning. He was unable to march down and get a TD against Moo State when we needed it and we wiffed at the half yard line at Mizzou.
They call that the IT factor and we dont know if Finley or Johnson have it or not but Brennan is not converting and playing consistently to complete drives when they are needed. I will agree that we scored enough points to win every game but we lost 2 games that could have been won by the offense with one more score.
I said in a couple of threads that the defense stats did not improve a whole lot against USCe but at least we got stops. And add to that going 8/10 on 3rd down and clocking almost 40 min of TOP went a long way to helping that defense.
It's amazing to me how ridiculous some of you really are.
The "It" factor.
Man, Joe Burrow has spoiled a bunch of you guys. Brennan is literally having one of the best starts for a QB in LSU history and people are on here saying he "doesn't have the It factor".
Can we at least wait and see if he'll get the same kind of protection and some semblance of a running game (which TJ had both) before we start talking about benching the kid?

As he should.
All these arm chair coaches who jized last weekend don’t realize what really happened.
We RAN the ball down their throats for the first time all year.

I think O wants to keep mentioning Brennan as the starter to keep Finley grounded.
One of the knocks on Finley has been his tendency to get cocky. O knows about it. O isn’t going to put too much praise on him at this point to temper that tendency.

The best will play. That was obv bec Max my all accounts was ahead Of TJ for a while. He even was the man up when Myles first looked like he may be out during mizzou game. But they had a competition and TJ won. With the running game and protection maybe Brennan does as well or better. Regardless he’s still set records. But one things for sure the leash will be short kf he struggles.

This team could use some emotion and “give a shite,” especially outside of core offensive players. I really wonder about the leadership differences between MB and Finley, as it is tough to tell.

I have been one of the biggest advocates for Finley to start going forward
based on 1 game...the coaches (you know people who really know the game and what they want on the field) have had every practice to determine the starter

I trust coach O and his decisions.
doesn't seem that you do

The running game and offensive line play you speak of are a direct result of Finley being able to run the ball which adds another dimension the defense must cover which helps the offensive line. When the quarterback is a statue, the pass rushers can go all out.

Every great quarterback will tell you 3rd down is all about the quarterback. Brennan has to get better on 3rd down.
Our avg 3rd down in the first 3 games was 3rd and 7
Against SC it was 3rd and 3
Finley completed one pass over 20yds and only 5 between 10-20yds. What happens when teams take the short passes away?

No its because we stuck with run, got more creative, and had Ingram back and Wire at LT who is way better at run blocking than Dare
