I'm not familiar with bird law in Texas, but in Louisiana you can't intentionally flood Ag land for the purpose of hunting. Only if it's part of a normal agricultural process, like rice.

1) Baiting laws are the same in all states as they pertain to waterfowl because waterfowl are federally regulated.

2) The regulations clearly state that it is legal to take waterfowl over flooded standing crops, or flooded harvest cropland.

Some damn people need to learn how to read.

Not sure where you are wanting to try this but one of the things I’ve noticed bird hunting for a long time is that whenever we’ve had heavy rains and or flooding in SWLA during hunting season, the ducks Love flooded pastures/grass areas.

best pintail hunts I had back in 10 duck days was 10 pintails in hayfields after heavy rains in spots holding water.

I’ve killed a pile of ducks in mixed Bermuda pastures. Find their crops full of Bermuda too, looks like black sand.

Yup and wash it down with a tall boy white can.

Had some hunts out there that I will remember as long as I live.
