People are tired of being cooped up in their houses, away from friends and family, isolated and alone. We humans are generally social animals that need the interaction of other humans. We are not made to be caged, we are made to be free. We are at the point where we don’t care the risks anymore, we want to live our lives.

This exactly. I don't think it's false positives but it's people getting stir crazy and tired of playing it safe. Covid fatigue is real.
People get into routines because they're easy. Being cautious and deliberate isn't easy for the great majority of people and they're getting tired of bothering with it.
