Houstonians: Where does El Tiempo rank for you in regards to Mexican cuisine?

I think the Ninfa family started it.
I always make a point to stop by one of the restaurants when I’m in the area and hit the one in Webster last night.

At the top. We drive in 45 mins from west of town to eat at El Tiempo.

It’s Ninfa’s grandson...for Tex Mex it’s pretty much the standard for fajitas in Houston. El Tiempo has surpassed Ninfa’s for the most part.
However, Candente is my personal favorite for Tex Mex in town.

Though original ninfas is still damn good.

I agree. Original Ninfas is fantastic also. But we prefer El Tiempo.
We’ll have to go try Candente.

I'm a huge fan of El Tiempo.
Carne Asada La Tana or beef fajitas for me
Prefer it over original Ninfa's.

I love El Tiempo. Partial to lupe tortilla as well

For Tex Mex it’s near the top. The tacos shops and taquerias in the city are where it’s at tho.

Get the Fajitas at El Tiempo and the tortillas at Lupe.

Depends which suburb you're closest to. We all have something closer and just as good or better.

Knowing WesKarl, your butthole hasn’t been the same either.

People sleep on the carnintas at el tempo but the old school ones might be the best thing on the menu.
Partial to the green chili enchiladas too

El Tiempo is our #1. Beef Fajitas and Brisket Tacos, but really everything on the menu is top notch. The bartenders know me at my usual location so all the margs come with a floater.

Agreed on the carnitas...always order them.
