I guess you believe Sleepy's lie about only federal land. I guess you ignored every other time where he did not give this qualification.

Be careful ....just because it says Federal Property does not mean your hike through Yellowstone will be amongst oil fields.

Don’t forget these guys are all about word play, they won’t ban exploration or fracking BUT they won’t issue new permits either.

The problem is that you can have a surface location on private land but the lateral may cross a federal tract. In that event the BLM will force a series of studies, archaeological, biology, etc in the Operator. They also send out letters to different groups like the Sierra Club soliciting comments. I think that period is 60 days. They also require extra engineering procedures. It takes about 6 months to get government approval. If you have a 40 acre US tract in a 640 acre unit, it holds up the private landowners. In order to produce the well and pay royalties you have to have a communitization agreement, otherwise the US could get the state to shut the well in.

I’m retired now, I was a landman. What I described was a cross unit horizontal in the Haynesville. The combined units totaled almost 1700 acres. We were contacted by the BLM after the well was permitted. It took about 6 months to clear all the red tape. Hope you can stay busy.

The federal gov't owns just under 30% of the US (land).

so biden said he wants to ban fracking on federal land... so that means oil companies will have to lease more private land which in turn means they will be closer to more people to spray oil all over their windshields.

that is suprising!!! look at nv...all fed land
not familiar with much oil activity and resource play in much of the red cluster ...so law would not impact resource play activity much...
but maybe you guy found some new ones..i am out of touch since retiring..

No.
First you ban fracking on federal land.
Then you buy all the land that is being fracked.
Anyone who won’t sell gets eminent domained.
