Texas 2020 question...

I'm not worried about losing Texas, but out of curiosity -
In 2016, Republicans led Democrats in early/absentee voting 49.2 to 43.8 (7.0 unaffiliated). Trump ended up winning by exactly 9 points, theoretically expanding the early vote lead on election day.
At this moment, Republicans lead Democrats 51.4 to 39.7 in early/absentee (9.0 unaffiliated).
Is there any reason to believe a smaller percentage of Ds are voting early this year vs 2016? It should be the exact opposite (Covid phobia) unless I'm missing something.
Texas looks like a massive Trump win to me.

I think the oil comments might make texas an even bigger win for trump than 2016.

Trump will win by more than Cruz did.
Cruz was just lazy and Beto was fueled by so much out of state money it was insane. Total cult of personality.
The only appearance I even know of in TX by Harris or Biden in TX is Kamala's husband going down to the RGV. I'm sure i've missed some, but i haven't heard of anything else.

This year we are still a go as Red but if Californians keep moving here by 2028 this will be the 8th largest city and I believe the state could go Blue by then.
I think that happens mainly if Trump were to lose this election if he doesn't maybe over the next 4 years he implements some regulatory standards for MSM and people start seeing the truth and finding pride again in this great country.
