Really? Both are considered and graded as pocket passers.

Look at his recruiting profile and tell me where it says “dual threat.”
He’s a pro style passer. You fail with this post.

I don’t think he even needs to be as mobile as Rodgers but he’s certainly got to be more mobile than Ryan Mallett
Oh I agree. I’m just getting at that having mobility doesn’t mean you’re automatically a dual threat QB and can’t be a pocket passer. Playing in the pocket simply means they are going to stay in there and look over all his receivers and throw them open if he has too versus checking his #1 and #2 and if they’re not open keeping it himself.

I don't think he's as immobile as Mettenberger. That's kind of hyperbolic as Mett wore cement shoes.
Looking at HS film (where he was 20+ lbs. heavier) and practice highlights, it looks like his mobility is on par with some true pocket passer big arm guys like Jacob Eason or maybe even a slightly more awkward Stafford.
He isn't going to run RPOs effectively and isn't going to beat anyone in a foot race, but plenty athletic enough to run 5-10 yards for a first down if the middle of the field is open and defenders have their backs to him. I think his size will also allow him to brush off arm tackles in the pocket and extend plays a bit.
We just need his timing and accuracy to be there. That's the big worry.

I don't understand it at all, the offense is suffering from lack of a run threat at QB. Johnson brings that to the table, Finley most definitely doesn't

Not really

True but in this specific case, he has no mobility
He's not Mettenberger or Mallett. He can run with big strides and get a first down if he needs to and has a lane.
Mettenberger could've had 40 yards open in front of him and he'd still look to pass

I think an apt comparison for mobility is Jamarcus.
If this is true, I’m more than excited about it. The rare occasions when he did run I was surprised by how quickly he got down field. Those long strides picked up a lot of yards.

Offense has played well enough to win, especially against Missouri.
Also, you're going to see both QBs tomorrow. So quit worrying about it.

People already the different between the two ,QBs they are just kinda of wondering why he picked TJ and not a QB like burrow instead , so people want to know why Coach O made his pick

If we had a QB like burrow on our roster who wasn’t starting then we need to fire everyone.

Going 0-10 on 3rd downs isnt good enough to get the win. You can said the offense was largely aided by the defensive TOs that set up short and easy scoring drives

I agree with you.
I find it lazy when people simply assume the offense is good enough and it’s all on the defense. Yes, the offense scores and the defense blows, but we can still improve on 3rd down conversions to extend drives and also
Improve on red zone efficiency.
The days of winning with less than 30 points is just about over. Look at even Alabama. You have to be as efficient on offense as possible.
I would very much like to see the offense improve on extended drives.

I didn't say the offense played great, but if you score 41 points against Missouri with 479 yards of offense at 6.9 YPP that should 100% be good enough to fricking win.

I’d bet he’ll pull a few times on Zone Read

He can move good enough.. he played basketball at Pontchatoula.. until he skipped senior year to focus on football
