So 8-2?

Minimal run threat and questionable accuracy, we are screwed thankfully it is in a throwaway year

Finley may well be intelligent, but a 3.2 GPA in high school is laughably easy and tells you nothing.
Out of the whole post this is what you pick out to criticize? Lol

I guess you know far more than the many top level college coaches Who recruited him to play for their teams. If only someone like Nick Saban had your football intelligence and ability to spot talent (or the lack thereof).

I hear he prefers the Boudin balls from Billy’s so that could be a good sign

That's all great but I expect the worst (freshman who has never played a down) and hope for the best. Does that make me a bad person?

He will make you respect his rush which is enough. TJ is a gamer, dude was down 35-0 at the half during a championship and came roaring back with 300+ yards and two TDs. He literally made a legendary coach change offensive philosophy because of his ability to throw the ball. Not to mention the guy is intelligent, graduated with a 3.2 and did so early. TJ is deadly in the read zone and knows how to leverage his WR on the DB. He likes tall WRs and that’s what we have a lot of. He already has a connection with Gilbert and McMath, add Marshall and we are cooking. He likes to dunk and dunk then look to hit you deep. He’s hard nosed and not afraid to take a hit to deliver.
Either I just uncovered Glen Guilbeaus alter, or you plagiarized his article. Which is it?

One thing I guarantee he learned from Hank Tierney is he'll just keep coming at you no matter what with no quit. He'll be tough for sure. If he played for Hank, he'll at least be those things.

sounds more like a Rohan. If he has half of Ro's moxey, sounds like he can be a really good QB.
I hope this is true. We don't through enough deep balls. I didn't think we last year when we had the best offense ever. If Marshall is ever one on one without safety help, I'd throw it deep to him every single time. I'd do it 3 plays in a row if they left him single covered. Find the next best guy at winning those deep one on one battles and line him up with Marshall and Gilbert and start throwing him the ball and opening up the field more for our running game. Make defenses pick their poison, stop Marshall, stop Gilbert, stop the deep ball, or stop the run. You can't do all of those. Marshall and Gilbert should be thrown the ball pretty much anytime they are single covered. Force the defense to defend them with multiple guys and it will open up everything else.

Loves to take deep shots. Was very confident his wr could win 50/50 balls.

If his feet haven’t improved he’s going to get sacked a lot
It looks like his body shape has changed some so maybe that won’t be an issue but these aren’t HS kids he can carry around hanging from his jersey
These players can take him down solo
I hope he does well

Played in an average, at best, district too that was nowhere near the level of the Catholic League.

Yea accuracy is a problem from what I’m hearing.
Can’t be true. He can’t run, so he must be able to throw.

Not only do these young QB's have better WR's than when they were in HS, they have elite level coaches that help them tweak areas of their game that HS coaches cannot,... no offense to HS coaches, but if they could take talent to the next level, they would be there themselves.

i want to see both play.
but what i want to see even more is for LSU to support BOTH these young pups. If they bomb, dont bomb them. just try to sit back and enjoy watching the pups grow... just stop trashing the young men.. I know several of them. They just want to be supported. They want to know that we are with them through the good times and the bad times...
What Im hoping to see:
Who is relaxed? Does the game move to fast for them?
Who looks like they know what they are doing?
Finley - All about accuracy... its his biggest issue
Johnson - much of the same honestly. many drops in practice because of the different spin of the ball.

If you’re going to throw Finley’s career completion percentage out there, why not include Johnson’s?
Max Johnson completion percentage for his high school career: 52.2% (384/735)
Don’t cherry pick, tell the whole story
