This might work since a lot of their customers leave the containers in the parking lot or neighboring lots.

All trends move down market eventually.

I was at Whole Foods for the first time in years this week. The coffee they were selling had eight different virtues attached - shade grown, rainforest safe, fair trade ... organic, it went on and on.

In the checkout line they were selling reusable shopping bags, covered in flair. It was straight out of office space. Buttons, pins, and ribbon graphics, touting local, organic, and whatever else is popular these days.

Yeah, because I trust your average fast food worker to clean those properly.

I hate how little pride most people take in their work, like I get it, you are probably making minimum wage and that sucks, but have enough pride in yourself to do a good job.

Because people that eat enough fast food to take advantage of reusable containers are also usually very environmentally conscious

I really don’t understand how they stay in business. My local one is a ghost town and you never hear someone say “Let’s go to Burger King.”

Same here. The one here had shut down three times in 4 years. Mc Dee's here makes a killing due to good service most of the time.

I can't say I've ever heard anyone say let's go to "insert any of the basic bottom level fast food". Aside from children.

I'm with the kids. Hitting the Sonic, Whataburger or Taco Cabana hits the spot from time to time.

I probably eat fast food twice per month but sometimes you just want a greasy arse $8 meal.

So we are going to let the mouth breather making pennies an hour who is probably stoned be in charge of washing the "reusable" containers?

This during a time where I can't get my own fricking refill because of Covid? Or, I have to let them fondle around in the ketchup bin because getting may own my kill someone? Or, we literally have to tape bags closed to keep from, I'm not sure what?

But "reusable" containers or okay?

Doesn't matter, I haven't eaten that swill BK calls food in years, anway.

Worked with a guy that as a teenager worked at a cinema
They’d count popcorn bucket and drink cups before and after the shows to determine sales.
When they’d clean up, if some of the popcorn buckets and cups weren’t too dirty they’d wipe them down, put them back and take the money out of the register.
Never ate popcorn at a cinema again.

I'm down for that, but I meant the low end places in that post...BK, McD, taco bell, wendys, etc. No one ever says lets go to any of those places. I have been, expectedly so, equally disappointed from all of them.

I am going to be charged more for using dirty containers?

Hard pass!

they should focus on teaching their employees how to server customers better. maybe assemble orders correctly?

Maybe not make customers feel like they are interrupting the workers by daring to order food which the workers then have to prepare.

Next level gross.

Seems like a better solution is just offer regular dishes when people dine in, and give a ten percent discount on the meal if they eat inside.
