Why hasn't more been done to reign in the CIA/FBI?

We all sit back and see this bullshite on a day to day basis, case in point the hunter laptop that was turned over to them would have been very helpful to be exposed during the impeachment hearings, how is it that no FBI agent speaks up though?
The POTUS has oversight of these agencies, and nothing has improved there under his watch, in that regard he has failed himself and we the people.

Trump has been incredibly weak on holding the intelligence agencies accountable.

Because they actually rule this country and the politicians we elect.

I don’t know what can be done
But it should bother EVERYONE that intel officials are interfering in our politics because they don’t like how the pres is conducting foreign policy
Military and law enforcement officials resisting and attempting to destabilize elected officials is what happens in Africa and other dysfunctional areas

Because our entire ducking government is corrupt. If the FBI was a legitimate organization they would step in and arrest Joe Biden and remove him from the election. They are all fricking criminals. The FBI is a criminal racketeering operation!

Who said he had to fricking indict them? He can get in people that are loyal to him and the country though
What kind of stupid fricking reply is that anyways? Of course he can't indict them you dipshit, I care less about them being in jail than I do them fricking him and us all in the arse while in those positions though.
If you have nothing to post go somewhere else where they discuss mcdonald's drive through records or some shite

POTUS can fire leadership and place good people that will uphold the law in their place. Wray is a disgrace yet still in office.

In 1963 Truman said he wish he would never have created the CIA. He said it was our version of the SS.

FBI and CIA directors have to pass Senate approval.
Burr, Graham, Mittens, Rubio, McConnell, etc would not support any nominee that wanted to reform the institutions from which these people draw their power. In fact, they came right out and told him they wouldn't approve any nominee at all in an election year, were he to fire Chris Wray (I remember this in the spring after impeachment, pre-Covid).

the last guy who tried this had his head turned into a canoe in front of hundreds of cheering onlookers

Even if you cut the heads off of agencies like the FBI and DOJ you still have 1000s of bureaucratic underlings who have more power than ever intended. These people are accountable to no one, and are nearly impossible to fire. You would have to dissolve the agencies to purge them, and that is just not a viable option.

Only the senate can confirm a new FBI director so essentially you have swamp confirming swamp and will just be a repeat of another worthless Sessions or Barr if Trump fires either one or both.
Yeah in that regard Trump is fricked as far as getting a decent AG or FBI director.

Clinton did reign in the CIA, so much so that 911 happened. We had no one working in the middle east or very few working.

We need modern day Church committee hearings followed up by cleaning house.
Hopefully this and breaking up Big Tech will be a big focus of Trump's second term.

It's becoming more viable every day. Any time these agencies get to the point where their very presence is more of a threat to this country than their lack of presence would be you get to the point of viability for this idea.

True Vodka. In fact I saw Clinton on Letterman after the presidency and Letterman made light of the job Bush had done with 9-11, it was one of the only times I ever saw Bill get pissed. He told Letterman to STFU if the public had any idea what else had been thwarted they would be amazed.
He also said it was one of his only regrets, cutting back on intel, he said Reagan and then Bush senior believed there were spies behind every corner, old school stuff, and cut back on it.....and THEY were right there were buuggy men everywhere.
