It’s 1:30 in the afternoon, I see one more garage sale, so I stop. I don’t have a dime on me.

I walk around, find nothing but these ugly arse trolls, marked $10 each. I look them up, some sell for $20-$50 each. I decide to see if I could get them for $20. I ask if they take Venmo or PayPal, they say no (bunch of old people). They ask me what I was interested in, and I tell the the trolls. They laugh and say people have been making fun of them all day, no one wanted them. She asks me if I have any cash, and I tell I have $2 in quarters in my truck. She said that’s fine, the sale was ending and they wanted to get rid of the stuff.
These trolls are made by an artist named Ken Arensbak. He still makes them. Mine are from the 70’s. I put all five in one auction on eBay, they get a $120 bid within the first 15 mins.

I have no idea what they will sell for.

You ever buy a box of clothes that smells like an ice box full of fish but worse?

The Advocate and Craigslist are a good start. And driving to ones they have listed always leads to ones nearby that aren't listed. I always see signs that people put out for sales that aren't listed

The Advocate has an app for their garage sales. There’s also an app called “Yard Sales”, that lists all other garage sales from Craigslist, Facebook, etc.
Plus there is estate sales .net, that lists all the estate sale.

In general or about garage sales?

If you are talking about my garage sale threads, I find some cool and weird arse stuff. Just showing my finds, and the threads always get a ton of replies.

We don’t call them victims, we call them “Non-Volunteers”

I love it. Sorry if some people can’t understand how it’s not a “I buy junk post”. He’s not Fred Sanford. It’s more of a “can’t believe these folks didn’t realize what someone would pay in the market- for said item.

Congrats, Baw. The big thing is not the $120. It is the fact that you will be smiling at breakfast every day this week because the $120 represents success at what you were trying to accomplish.

Congrats.

We should have a contest to match each troll to an OT poster.

How much you think you make a year turning junk? Also, sounds like you just have an eye for weird things. You buy mostly by for yourself? What percentage you strike out?
