I was in the same boat.

Diet is the most important, so if you have that down, cardio, HIIT sessions and core exercises will take it off in no time.

if you are counting calories, one thing i have found is that if you are eating at a deficit for a long time and your metabolism starts to slow it can be beneficial to do a reverse diet for a little bit to boost the metabolism back up. i add about 50 cals to my daily total per week and keep monitoring the scale. from there you can eat at maintenance for a while or go back into a cut. this might be anecdotal but i typically drop a pound or two when i add cals the first couple of weeks.
