When Ted ran for president, I think most people would agree he was very qualified for the position. He just didn’t have it, he wasn’t personable enough, and didn’t have the charisma to capture people.

Since that time I feel like he has grown a lot and is winning over more people.

My question is: where do you see Ted in the Future? Does he stay in the senate wrecking shop for the Dems, end up as a SCOTUS (only happens if Trump Wins and some how gets to nominate another in his next term), does he end up as a VP or president candidate?

I really think the republicans run a woman as a VP or President candidate in 2024. There are a few good candidates out there for this (Kristi Noem). I think Ted would be a a good VP or President in that case. Him being on the Ticket would put many hardcore old time conservatives at ease.

I know he doesn’t want to, but he would be an excellent Supreme Court Justice.

He barely beat Beto for Senate. People on this board were saying he's not well liked in Texas. Maybe they like him better now.

Beto was kind of like Abrams (albeit a better overall candidate). In other words, there was so much outside money and pressure to try and flip that seat that I'm not sure it says all that much about Cruz or his popularity in Texas.

Rather than quietly bankroll a center-left candidate who could win one of these races, the left is going for a knockout blow with the likes of Beto/Abortion Barbie/Abrams/etc. Honestly Cal in NC was a more viable shot, but that may be unraveling too.

He seemed to fake in 2016. He made good points often times but he just didn't come off as genuine. I agree he has changed a lot and is a lot more likeable now. I'd support Cruz for a future run for President. I think he'd do a great job.

Seems more like a chief of staff to me. I think that’s in his cards. I would take Mike Lee over him for SCOTUS. If Trump wins, he probably gets 2-3 more Justices, but Cruz won’t be one, as Lee will be the nominee first that covers a spot Cruz would get.

Again, helluva CoS

Off the wall take....Honestly, I think the one thing that has helped him is the beard. Laugh all you want, but he just looked like a smarmy bastard prior to the beard. So his intelligence could just rub some people wrong. With it, not so much. As such, people are actually listening to what he's saying, which has been right all along.

Well he’s got 4 more years in the senate so at the least he will be there for that time.

I think he has improved as a candidate and in his personality since his re-election.

Possible he ends up on Court but that is dependent upon Trump’s re-election, another Court seat opening, and Trump selecting Cruz and Cruz accepting. That’s a lot of steps that have to fall in place.

I think he campaigns for president in three years. I think there is a real chance he gets the nomination. After that, his path could go down any number of roads, ranging from President to being out of politics.

Why?

Why would having a vagina qualify someone for such an important position?

If the GOP falls victim to identity politics we're phuckked.

I remember Bill Maher said that Ted Cruz was scary as candidate because he was smart (and very conservative obviously). Coming from a major liberal, that tells me he would be a great candidate. He is very smart and he gives good reasoning and lots of facts/details behind his opinions. He doesn't strike me as a pushover either now that he is a little more seasoned.
