GFS still up to some crazy. However, one thing to watch over the next week is how close does 94L get to the future system that will develop in the WCAB. Models that get them closer together keep a weakness in place for the WCAB system to follow 94L out to sea. However, the GFS has enough separation to allow a ridge to build in behind 94L. Also, a fair number of GEFS members are getting the future WCAB system into the Gulf.

This is too close for comfort. You can see the fronts coming in basically protecting us but at this time of year it doesn’t take much for one to stall out or not make it here..
