with no need or intent of getting a response. Anybody notice this too? Seems to be part of the modern emasculation of men.

It's a pandemic. Professors and TED Talk types do it incessantly.

Isnt that just called active listening

Thank you, brother.

I hate it more when they don't understand their right from left and say left in the middle of saying something.

Active listening when a person is doing a monologue? "Yeah, no."

Only betas and homos worry about other men becoming less manly.

Corporate salespeople do this a lot.

I feel like you saying that is calling me a beta or a homo, which points the finger you pointed at me back at you.

Actually, it is arguably the opposite. When someone uses right or the various other terms with a similar meaning they are forcing acquiescence on the listeners part by reinforcing the universal agreement with their statement.

They aren't forcing anything. They are saying it to no effect.

I work remote and the northern people I work with do this all the time and with their accent.
Drove me nuts at first but I’m sure the way I say things drive them nuts too. They made a big deal out of me saying “fixin” a lot.
Example: “I’m fixin to send you this email”

I say "you know" at the end of sentences way too much. Been working on cutting that and all the F bombs out lately

Same as starting every sentence with “So...”.
