Ran across a lot of Satan's Tramps in the bars between Alexandria and Monroe back in the 80s. Only club I ever saw in the area

A former head of the Bandidos from Houma is in prison. Google him.

The gal in Galveston that asked me to PIIHB using unsalted butter had an ex who was a Bandido from Houston.

When I was in high school I was headed to the dove field and passed up two Galloping Gooses. When I got to the red light they pulled alongside in the turning lane One dismounted and was approaching my truck raising 40 kinds of hell.

He wasn’t loud enough to not hear me jack one of the six rounds that was already in the tube of theWinchester Model 12 that I was raising to the window. He backed up got on his bike and rode.

Killed a shitload of doves over a heavily baited field that day. The Sheriff was with us and he killed the most.

If you Google any of the groups there is usually a Wiki page for each. Links to their clubhouses with pictures of gatherings. Blogs, forums.

Google their name, their locale and go to images. Each image has a story.

Here’s a fun fact for all you prospects on this thread: Anybody know that the Bandidos got their name from the Frito advertising campaign in the 70’s that featured the “Frito Bandito”?

Frito Bandito

As far as 1%er clubs go, Sons of Silence MC is for sure one I’d never want to cross. They’re not a big as other clubs. But they’re for sure guys you don’t want to get sideways with.

Long, long ago, 3 of us got called out by a group of the Sons of Silence in the Bayou bar right off LSU's campus. They wanted to kill us because my crazy roommate had to mutter in a too loud, sarcastic tone, "Oooh, Look at the big, bad biker gang!" as they came strolling in. One of their old ladies overhead him and ratted him out. Life was fleeting over what seemed like hours of sweating out if they were going to come at us inside the bar as we kept pool cues at the ready with our backs to the wall.
Yeah, as if we really wanted to "step outside" outnumbered by about 8 to 3.

Bandidos ran thevstatevin the 80s and 90s. I think any other club thg hat sported a Louisiana rocker acknowledged that La was Bandit territory .

Had a French Canadian I carried by the local chapter President's shop to look at real bikers and there nkies start talking up the Angels. Not a very pleasant 30 seconds before I got him out of there.

Did get to meet the national president.
See m.j ed fairly normal. Looked like a lawyer or businessman.

All the ones I knew have aged out and moved on to support clubs. Dont think they are near as big as they were.

When I was a kid, the biggest biker gang in the NOLA area were the Galloping Gooses (I guess Galloping Geese would have sounded awkward). Having said that, I haven't heard that name in years.

We have a group here called the Black Hawks. Don't seem as prevalent as they were in the 80's and 90's. Used to hang out at the same bar as them. Seemed laid back, no troubles.

Pardon me, you’re correct. To clarify, I read in a book some years back about the Bandidos that the club modeled their patch after the Frito Bandido. The patch is known as the “Fat Mexican”.

If you ride down River Road in Kenner heading towards St. Rose they have a building after Alliance Street on the right side. Banshees hang out there and they are apparently a Hells Angels support club.

The patch, yes. The name no. The name came from the club founder, Don Chambers. He and some friends were at a bar around the Mexican border (I’m not sure what side of the line) and their Hispanic waitress commented they looked like Bandidos. The name stuck. As for their red & gold colors, that came from Don Chambers served with the Marines in Vietnam.

Reading that article I think I recall hearing about when that happened.

Did any of these biker gangs have ties with the "Dixie Mafia"?
