I hate the "H1N1" angle that some conservatives are pushing...

Trump should stay away from mentioning it when Biden hammers him on COVID. As much as O'Biden were lucky with their "response," less than 15,000 died from it in the U.S. - we're looking at official numbers above 200K for the China Virus. The average suburban mom is not going to give a shite about nuance (died "with" not "because" of COVID, etc.). Trump has got to impress suburban women or he's in trouble. If he mentions H1N1 - I say fail. Don't do it!

That being said, let's have a great debate!

so about the same as Covid. H1N1 was way more deadly for young people than Covid is

This is really misleading given that 99.99 percent of people who have died have had other serious health conditions.

(Not making light of their loss, but to claim Covid is responsible for all the deaths is flat out wrong.)

The only angle for H1N1 that makes sense is that it actually killed young people and kids unlike COVID. The death demographics were different than COVID.

Also, the Obama admin stopped testing for it. So therefore it couldn't be attributed to deaths.

But I agree, I'd stay away from it. Don't bring it up at all. Talk as much as possible about the economy and jobs. The more COVID is an issue the worse for Trump.

They botched it and were VERY lucky it wasn't as contagious as covid.

Agreed they were VERY lucky and the more COVID dominates the debate - the worse for Trump. Let's talk HYUGE economic numbers prior to the China Virus.

He should hammer Biden for criticizing the travel ban. Again, and again, and again, and again. He should keep coming back to the point that America can't trust Biden to handle this crisis because he was fundamentally wrong on one of the most important decisions.

Funny. I'm a bigger Trump supporter than you. I bet you voted for McCain and Romney.

Completely agree with this. Use the argument that Biden was so worried about coming across as racist that millions of Americans would have died had he been Prez.

The official numbers are false.

Actual Wuhan flu only deaths are less than 100,000. Not nothing, but not the 2 million we were warned about.

"Well I definitely wouldn't put coronavirus patients into nursing homes like your party's governors did. It's simple, protect the high risk people and don't waste a lot of resources while doing grievous economic harm to those who are very low risk."

I really don’t care about pandemics and the response to them. Whether H1N1 or COVID-19.

As far as I’m concerned death is just.... death. Nothing we can do to avoid it.

Death rates and positivity rates in the US are consistent with the European nations libs drool over. Similar demographics. Similar response.

That’s what he should hammer home.
