As in years past, here is the Massey Composite. It's an amalgamation of both computer and human polls. The primary purpose of the ranking comparison is to present the large variety of rankings in an easily accessible and understood format. By displaying all the rankings in one web page, teams and rating systems may be easily compared with each other.

Massey

1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Georgia
4. Notre Dame
5. Florida
6. Auburn
7. Texas
8. Louisiana State
9. Central Florida
10. Ohio State

Definitely some weird rankings this week, with the most obvious of Louisiana State maintaining a top 10 ranking with their abysmal opener vs Mississippi State. These rankings will have some significant anomalies until we get more data points from a season already significantly lacking those.

Why is OSU even ranked????? They have yet to play a game, and may still not....

Id do separate rankings for the B10 and P12 this year, and they shouldn't be eligible for the playoffs with an 8 game schedule.

Teams will have played 4-5 games by the time these leagues start and will already be dealing with injuries, fatigue, etc.

IMO, ND has a dangerous team. They look and play like an 00s SEC team.

I do not think that any team should be ranked if they have not started a season yet or not committed to play. Especially if it is a metrics driven poll, as there are really no metric to go off and subjective polls seem to ranking name only if the team has not played. Just my pea brained take on this.

I like the Massey poll actually.

These rankings show just how stupid and unreasonable using computer rankings as any measure of validation is.

I think we can all safely say LSU would lose to OSU by 21+ without even seeing OSU.
