it is not up to you to decide what people do with their bodies.

Drugs are the future, especially as they get better. Adderall, Xanax, ambien, Prozac, are just first generation chemicals. They will be as commonplace as caffeine.

There is no way legalization can make things worse. Money spent on incarcerations will be spent on education, counseling and addiction. Citizens, instead of being in jail, will keep the family unit intact, and in the work force.

Cannabis, mushrooms, and even opiates, are safer than tobacco. MOST people(81% in 2016) have an opiate prescription, and use for decades, and there’s no long term diseases associated with it unlike Tobacco and alcohol.

Yes there is a disease for taking opiates long term. Its called addiction. It's called withdrawal, it's called fogging up your mental judgement to the point your banging it in your veins. If you are abusing any substance you will likely die much sooner than a person who's drug free. Its selfish to say it's not your decision/body so who cares. Your family cares, when parents bury thier drug abusive child do you think they say "well it was his decision and his body" and move on the day after burial? Most violent crimes have some sort of drug abuse involved. Legalizing drugs is a terrible path forward. If you think kids are lazy these days legalize all the drugs. Watch what happens in the near future after drugs become legal. Remember, what one generation accepts, the next embraces.

My only issue is that once drig abuse becomes even more rampant, the left will expect us to finance the results through even higher taxation. How do you rhink these drug addicts are going to vote? The left will promise them everything.....housing, health care, cash, or even more dope in exchange for their votes.

Look at the horrible things that took place when Portugal decriminalized drugs LINK

Overdose down by 80%
AIDS down by 50%
In the US, states that legalize cannabis, teen use goes down 10%.

By your rationale we should make illegal: tobacco, alcohol, sports that cause CTE, buffets and anything not necessary that could lead to an early death. Try quitting caffeine, most people are 3 to 10 times over the RDA, and withdrawals will be a nightmare. Heart disease is the number one cause of death, and it’s risk factors are self imposed. Kids/parents have to see their 45yo dad/son get buried just because he wanted to smoke and eat. How long before this madness stops.

This is the first generation of opiate addiction, it’s going to be messy, but incarceration is not going to help. People who spend time in jail are more likely to commit more crime than those with alternative punishments that keep them out of jail. This is the direction the future is going, algorithms will run our lives, and we will augment ourselves with medicine. I don’t support it, but it’s best to get ahead of it, rather than expect a 180 turn.

Too many people are very against this. The evangelicals NEED to vote bigly this election. We can’t piss them off. Second term is the way to go.

DeSantis to bring Florida on board and use it as a 2024 campaign issue?

Well because they're half the war. End the war and they're merchants not mercenaries.

I may be OK with weed and hallucinogens.

Cocaine, opiates, and amphetamines have too much addiction potential.

Look at athletes and productive people brought to their knees after injuries have led to opiate addiction. Most of them are the last people you think would develop a problem. Addiction is a tough problem and addicts are seen as dregs and ignored. Recovery is achieved by a relatively small percentage. Jails, institutions, and death. It is bleak.

It has been recommended multiple times even by Obama

If anything this proves that career fed.gov bureaucrats hold way too much power

Congress gave the actual reschedule power to paper pushers

He cant just reschedule it. It has to go through 18 departments and 15 "testing" phases.
