The system is so corrupt in KY I'm not surprised by this verdict at all.

I’m assuming they are saying that because the police were fired upon by someone in BT’s apartment, that police were justified in firing back into that particular apartment, but not the other apartments. Hence, no charges for BT’s death.
Is this correct?
That's essentially the gist I get.
As I explained earlier, it's complicated. Walker's charges were dropped because he argued (successfully) that he did not know it was police coming in the door and actually suspected it was Glover (the drug dealing ex). So technically, under Castle Doctrine, that holds up.
On the flipside, the argument for the police is that they fired because they were fired upon. But Hankinson went all Wild West and fired into other apartments, which is obviously not a part of their training hence the charges.
But when you look at the other factors and variables to the case, there's so many questionable things from an officer lying to get the warrant and to why they weren't wearing their body cams (has been a systematic issue for LMPD).
It's a systematic issue. And a real discussion on holding LMPD accountable for shitty policies that lead to bad situations like these.

So all you guys are ok with falsifying warrants? This is what you're gonna go ahead and be ok with?
Dangerous precedents have been set today. fricking dangerous.

LPMD served a warrant on an apartment that was poorly surveilled (Someone in their report put that BT's apt had bars on the window, cameras, and locks on the door). I think it was a poorly executed narcotics raid and that a number of the individuals involved shouldn't have been on the police force in the first place.
If anything, I'm shocked that the boyfriend (and was able to make a clear 911 call) is still alive after the number of shots fired into that apartment unit.

... with your opinion...
you seem to be awfully picky with how you apply your "Biblical standard".... those passages cover ALL parties involved, not just one side... remember that... don't cherry pick the Bible... take it, as it is, and learn how to defend it, or leave it be, because you do a real disservice to your fellow Christians when you can't adequately apply that "standard" to EVERYONE... it's hypocrisy, at it's finest, and does more harm to your faith than you can imagine....

Otherwise, nothing you described in that original post applies to this killing as Breonna Taylor wasn't resisting or threatening anyone.

Then I would expect the criminal that fired at the police to be charged with her death.

The larger issue, that likely won't end up getting addressed, is this has been a common issue with LMPD. They're a walking lawsuit on a regular basis. The city is hemorrhaging from their lawsuits. I dread what the Explorer lawsuit is going to cost us.
This is a great opportunity to have a good house cleaning and to really sit down and re-evaluate how they operate. But that won't happen because of the FOP.

Even assuming this was an egregious police operation gone wrong - why should police doing the public's bidding be rung up on murder charges for a situation that involved no individual officer overreach or brutality?
Change the laws and the roles of police. It's absolutely indisputable that at least some of the officers involved did nothing but respond reasonably to a bad situation.

You're rewarding a police officer for lying to obtain a warrant.
I wonder how common this is? Actually thinking about it, it is something everyone should be concerned about, but I always assumed that if the police really wanted to search someone's house, they will come up with something and then it is your word against theirs.
Maybe it doesn't happen as much as I assume and maybe there are times when they have to bend the law to get what they need to arrest someone who needs to be taken off the street.. IDK, I am "typing out loud".. but it should be a concern.

Alright that is what I thought. So the people that think these cops should be charged with murder think anyone who gets shot due to wrong place wrong time should be charged with murder? Logical

When did that happen?
They got caught lying about some of the evidence on the warrant. The officer who brought the warrant before a Judge has been reassigned.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – A U.S. postal inspector in Louisville said Metro police did not use his office to verify that a drug suspect was receiving packages at Breonna Taylor's apartment, one of the factors listed in officers' request for a "no-knock" warrant for her home.
