She's gone.
Granted, she was going to lose no matter what her position was on this issue. Same with Gardner and McSally. They have zero chance.
Gardner and McSally are not complete idiots, however, so they realize that they may as well go ahead and vote to confirm.

Mitch cave her the cover for a No vote. He has his votes.

Is it possible that since they have the votes, the RNC has her vote this way to help her in Maine?
Posted on 9/22/20 at 3:13 pm to jatilen
Mitch has given her permission to say this.
he has his 50+1

If they are going to lose their seats, where does the republican party make up ground outside of Alabama?

They don't. It will be 51-49. The GOP will lose Collins, Gardner, and McSally, and the Dems will lose Jones.
Tillis, Ernst, Daines, Peters, Smith (MN), Loeffler, etc. will all be reelected. Sucks because the GOP didn't HAVE to lose McSally's seat. Ducey appointing loser McSally to Kyl's seat sealed that fate though. She is awful.

I hope not. Or at least I hope that this is not the thinking.
If Collins and/or the GOP think that voting 'No' will bring one single voter to her side who wasn't already voting for her....................
I have an open position in the Hillary Clinton administration to sell them.

L8r. I would rather the seat go democratic so we can know the score than have these RINOs stay in power one moment longer.

Make sure you book mark this for when the next seat opens up and/or when the GOP needs one extra vote in the Senate to put a bill through.
Someone who votes with a GOP president >0% of the time is better than someone who votes against a GOP president categorically. Even if you think the person is spineless or disagree with them on any given issue.

Nowhere. They have to keep 50 and Trump win in order to keep the Senate. That of course assumes that Romney doesn’t switch parties.

Not that it makes much difference but it is a slightly different situation. Obama was a lame-duck two-term President on his way out with Senate opposition. Trump is not a lame-duck President and your party controls the Senate. The Democrats would have done the same exact thing the Republicans did in 2016 if roles were reversed.

The problem is her gimmicky acts do not attract indies or center leftist. It just makes her look fake...which turns off indies.
She sucks donkey balls which is why she is behind in the polls.

I mean they can get really gritty. You need 51 for a quorum
So 50 is enough to just punt the Senate into doing absolutely fricking nothing if its a solid 50
Then just let SCOTUS work for you

That is my point precisely. She is toast REGARDLESS. Collins and McSally losing their seats may be the only two guarantees this cycle. Gardner is close but his poll numbers are not so bad, which is somewhat surprising at this stage to be honest.
Collins is not helping her chances by voting no. Her only chance is to drive turnout via the Trump supporters in Maine.

II’ll bet people like her can’t stand when their votes don’t decide things.
Posted on 9/22/20 at 3:35 pm to jatilen
I’m baffled at how you people can be so hypocritical???

There will be no protection for trump if they lose the senate. Hopefully the polls are wrong.

Not sure what you mean
SCOTUS will get to work and nothing will ever pass because of a big fat veto
Thats more than acceptable to me all considered
