I think you're getting all those downvotes, because people only read the first part of your post.
You're 100% spot on.
The Kav hearing is what really drove it home for me that Mitch should go in dry any time a judicial nomination came up under Trump.

I agree. Which is why Mitch needs to quit pretending that he's simply adhering to some sort of made up rule.
That said, if (and it's a big if) both Biden wins in November and the Democrats take control of the Senate, the same logic will apply if they want to pack the court or admit new states to swing the Senate.
Democrats will have the votes, and as you say, dems will be the rules. They won't be 'stealing' anything.
I don't blame McConnell for what he's doing here, but I think that Republicans need to be careful that this doesn't become a sort of pyrrhic victory. A conservative in Ginsberg's seat will energize Democratic voters, and if they gain the majority they are going to use it.

It’s like a battery put in the wrong way. In 2016 Dems wanted the Reps to physically take the battery out and reinsert it. But then the voters did in the 2016 election. It currently properly in place. And the confirmation machine is running.

45 is not in that category.
Dems need to move on to their next subject matter that does not improve America.

Yup. And if the Democrats take the White House and the Senate, you might have 2, 4, or 6 more liberal ones soon after.
And it will be just as much of a legitimate move as this one.

Trump will get two more in his second term. Believe that.

I don't understand.
Mitch is not being hypocritical. It's just history repeating itself.
29 fourteen be Tim new president Mrs have had springs court vacancies pop up in their last year.
Every single president has nominate a judge. When the president and senate match, out of the nineteen previous times. They almost always are confirm.
Of the ten times the president and senate do not match, they rarely succeed.

Elections have consequences. Socialist democrats have no problem instituting those consequences when they have the power, but have no qualms about using their propaganda media and useful idiots to try to prevent the republicans from imposing similar consequences upon them.
If they can impeach the president in an election year, then appointing a Supreme Court Justice in an election year is a big fricking nothingburger. What’s more, socialist democrats proved without a doubt that they would absolutely do what republicans are being urged to do, four years ago.

the stupidity really im so tired of people just saying whatever the hell. If Obama didn't have the votes why would Mitch not bring it to the floor.
There is ZERO excuse if you're ok with this you don't give a shite about the constitution you didn't in 2016 and you don't today. The president is supposed to nominate a SC justice and the Senate is supposed to advise and consent. To hold that up for 9 months has NEVER BEEN DONE EVER. It caused in imbalance and Trump not making this pick right now corrects that injustice.

Locke,
In 2016, Mitch was just going by the Biden Rule.
If you don't believe me, listen to Joe, in his own words.
Since the President and Senate are of the same party, The Biden rule does not apply.
History is on the republicans side.

So you are equating the normal process of SCOTUS nomination and appointment with adding seats to the SCOTUS and adding new states?

Regardless, the president has an obligation, to the people, to nominate someone.
In 2016 and now, a nomination should happen. After that, Congress has the power to accept or reject that nomination.
It’s that simple.
The biggest difference is, in 2016, Obama was at his term limit.
Trump still has four more years, Four More Years, FOUR MORE YEARS!

Harry fricking Reid.
The Dems did this to themselves, but brought in the nuclear option with much less at stake.
Now they’re eating crow.

Bottom line.
Trump has the votes. Obama didn't.
The explanations are just theater.
Democrats would have done the same damn thing in 2016 if roles were reversed and they'd do the same thing now.
Yes it's hypocrisy and yes it's why Donald J. Trump is President.
The only principle is power.

It seems like both sides are using the powers that they had at the time to best fulfill their duties.
I would say after the last 4 years of how the democrats have treated Trump and the republicans in general (including his SCOTUS nominees) that the imbalance is still in favor of the Democrats. They owe Trump a good bit more than just this SCOTUS pick which he will make just like Obama did in 2016. Trump owes the Democrats less than nothing and so does every republican in congress.

No.
In 2016 Reps had the majority, they had continually been given more and more power by We the People (Reps have gained/held senate seats since 2010). Americans have given Reps the power consistently.
There is some debate when one party has the Presidency and the other party has control over the Senate. That's 2016.
Today Reps have both the Presidency AND the Senate. That's a different ballgame.
We the People have given the Republicans both the power to recommend Justices and to affirm Justices. In 2016 the Democrats did not have both of those powers.
This is not the same. Not even close. frick the Democrats. Push a Justice through, use the nuke option if needed, and most of all MAKE IT STING!
Suck it commies!
