and then throws an interception that was all 100% on him and him alone then he is shown laughing about it as he walks off

he is the same cam he was for carolina, he threw lasers then too and then threw interceptions to lose the game just as he will continue to do in NE

The Pats O-line looks phenomenal. Cam got no pressure all night. Any decent QB would look real good behind that line.

The NE pass rush is the problem. I don't see how they expect to get pressure with John Simon and Chase Winovich on the edges.

Cam Newton has an absolute cannon and with cannon-armed QBs comes two problems: 1. Touch passes are harder for them because they are so use to fastballing it and 2. Coaches know they have that skill and overuse it to the point that it limits its effectiveness.

Didn’t help that for half of his career in Carolina they had slow arse receivers who couldn’t get open and then when they finally did get him some dynamic weapons, they couldn’t keep him upright and healthy.

Winovich is a very good pass rusher. He’s been one of their best defenders this season against the run and the pass

Missing Uche out there to injury, and overall they just don’t have a lot of linebackers on the roster so it’s hard to manufacture pressure based on that.

Wilson was just incredible when the Pats did get pressure. He was on another level last night

I think people watching Burrow in Cincinnati and wanting him to succeed are going to experience a lot of the same frustrations as people watching Cam in Carolina.

Certain franchises can really harm the legacy of these talented, potential star QBs by not getting them the help they need either with coaching or players.

Yeah, b/c that's what people here were calling Cam the last few years.

I personally wouldn't pay big money for him, and to also be fair he was missing high quite a bit last week, and even this week was throwing those outs late and behind. Cam is what Cam has been, a thrower who has fantastic games, and horrendous games. I don't think he's viable when there's no threat to run, and he's 31 now which means he's either a bionic human, or he will get hurt running the ball.

Make no mistake, he was damn good last night, but I just don't think he can consistently be that guy, or consistently healthy for that matter.

The Pats may have the best interior in the league, and Wynn is probably around league average when healthy. Our right tackle is horrendous, and poor Sony Michel got killed a couple of times because of it.

Think you’re selling Wynn short. He’s been awesome so far this year. He’s got the skill set to be a top 10 LT in the league

RT is a work in progress, Elunmer has been serviceable but I think Onwenu overtakes that spot by mid season. They love that dude

Very possible, and I'm not as in tune with the rest of the NFL as years past either. He was pretty much league average last year per PFF, so that's what I'm mostly basing on.

Wasn’t ever fully healthy last year after coming off IR but got better and better as the year went on.

Wynn played every snap last night and only gave up one pressure. He’s a cornerstone to the offense.

Good to know. I will admit watching Mason get back to it and just crushing people was fun.

Yeah the Oline has been fun to watch the first two games in general because they are bullying dudes out there in the run game

Getting David Andrews back is so huge as well. Think Miami is figuring out that Ted Karras sucks.

Really excited about Onwenu. He bullied the dolphins last week and is a quick moving bulldozer. He’s either gonna take over that RT spot or he’s gonna be the Thuney replacement after this year

His arm is super strong. He has had issues with accuracy in his career, whether it is scheme or he just doesn't know his own strength type of deal. Objectively, it has been a knock on his game. Dude did get clocked repeatedly in Carolina behind that trash O line, though, and it did look like maybe he was done for. They didn't take care of him. I remember the Saints @ Carolina game for MNF late in the 2018 season and he couldn't throw it more than 20 yards, then that carried on to 2019. He looks healthy now and is in the ideal situation to succeed.

With exactly one TD and one pick. Glorified RB. As always. There's a reason only one team even reached out to him.

Maybe I missed the part of the offseasons where he was fielding offers from teams left and right. No doubt Bill just signed him partially as a troll just to see what he could do with him.

Because of his health.

Plenty of players perform well after having a Luke warm market.

He’s ballin out right now and you look like a complete joke in this thread, I can’t imagine being that ate up with a player just because he beat my team in college

Summary of you in this thread so far

-he can’t pass!

(He threw for 400 yards)

-well he isn’t throwing deep!

(Has the most deep ball passes in the league this week)

- well he only had 1 passing TD!

(And he drove them with his arm for 30 points and a couple yards away from winning the game after getting the ball back with under 2 minutes to play)

-well he had a bad free agent market!!!
