I know a number of gay guys and lesbians who started out very easy going and somewhat conservative. But pretty inevitably, they get more and more into Atlanta gay culture and become increasingly catty/bitchy/angry/etc.
That community can be pretty destructive.

Old friend that used to be like a brother to me moved From Lafayette to Atlanta. Before the move, real laid back, almost hippy art student. Now catty, hateful, and I really have a hard time being around him. Sad actually.
