I would do the same, but I am a very loyal and considerate husband for 90% of my free time. However, during deer season and optimum fishing times my honey temporarily becomes a very temporary second priority. But, I still love her.
No pics, but she is a very cute, not overweight, 66 year old woman.

How many years did yall put in for draws before you got pulled?

You can get tags easily. The draw odds per point are published and many units/seasons will have very high draw rates. They are high draw rate because they are less desirable, but you can get a tag year 1 if you want.
If you're not going to go unless you get something prestigious, start applying for 0% tags just to start building points.

Does anyone have any good recommendations on cleaning my elk blood soaked clothes, shoes, and backpack?
It all smells horrid. I would imagine i'm going to have to hand scrub my pack a good bit. Don't really want to put my clothes in our washing machine unless i can get a good bit of it out beforehand.
Any tips on this?

First off,
Peroxide should work, just don't let it soak in because it will damage the fabric.

while it was a subtle brag, i was genuinely curious.
My buddy that shot one 3 years ago said he could smell it in his pants the next year after washing them several times.

Blood is a bitch to clean up.
Peroxide and bleach are the only two things I know of that will clean the hell out of it. Bleach will ruin whatever you put it on.
Know anybody in the medical field? I bet they know some tricks.

Got skunked the first week. Drew a tag for a new draw unit. OTC From now on for me.. I was limited on area I could hunt and a lot of the roads were closed due to culvert work and the recent fires. Second thing I'll never hunt Labor day weekend again. Way too many hikers and families out enjoying the trails. Tryin to work it out so I can go back next week and hunt the last few days..
